I dont feel safe on fb (internet privacy)

I wanted to start a topic on internet privacy and how to improve it. For anyone who cares about private data or privacy online…I already assume all my emails are being read by people in google but really–how broad-scoped is the data, how far does the breach of privacy go…its getting creepy.

Its not just that facebook is so popular…the issue with trying to conceal my location is too difficult, they almost force you to give them you’re actual full name and date of birth…I cant just use a nickname…then all these fake people are requesting me–I cant friend request people I want to–while blocking the spam bots or scammers from bombarding my feed with requests…

how much does it cost to get rid of a digital footprint…I wish I was rich so I could delete or at least minimize all this bs online about me. I tried to delete my ebooks…most of the ones i published thru lulu have been hacked and re-printed and sold across the world market. I have never made a penny of profit from book sales and my books are available all over the net…

twitter is prob the best because u can lock ur account to only followers wish more social media would use a method like this…and u dont have to give out all ur personal info to use it and its not like I have to two-auth factor every time I log in because honestly I give no trust to google with privacy so why do they make me type in my cellphone number and password to log in to my bank when I dont even trust them to be private with my data. Its the people who run google I would rather be private from than actual hackers…its not like I have tons of money to hack into…

Im just so frustrated with how terrible the internet is at keeping things secure…and Im not tech savvy.

I don’t like fb. Not sure why though.

I hate the deletion process.

You gotta wait 2 weeks for it.

Yeah for me it will be 30 days until my account is actually deleted.

what I dont understand is why they make it so difficult to delete these profiles…its almost as if tech wants to instigate the crap instead of minimize it…doesnt make me feel safe at all…

Yeah - I don’t wanna trigger anyones paranoia but yeah — you do have to be careful online.

One of my fb accounts got hacked and got deleted by fb for inappropriate posts they said.

Someone in Sweden logged in it it said.

I got hacked by a service too - a streaming media app.
Scared me really bad - I use the app so much - i think if I didn’t report it in time - more damage could have been done like stealing my Credit Card info on file home address etc.

I think Alexa has been listening to me poop. It’s unnerving.

not saying facebook is evil, but they could really improve their platform. Make it more secure, more user friendly, safer etc. because how it stands its worthless to me.

I unplugged my echodot because it was lit non stop and i felt a lot better when i turned it off…the alexa stuff creeps me out too…

True. Facebook is so BIG - Its like a mini (not so mini actually) internet inside the internet. So you have to trust them to keep you safe. But i don’t trust them.

It is misbehaving this evening. I suspect Amazon Web Services is having problems. My entire home is automated.

oh man…that would be annoying…the only thing I have is an Amazon Fire and an echo dot…one time I was listening to a song on youtube that mentioned the name Alexa and my Fire tablet lit up and started playing the news, I almost lost it…

Once I thought Zuckerberg was the devil.

I would just delete your Facebook if you don’t feel safe on it.

I use Facebook but I’m not super involved with it. I don’t post things when I’m feeling unwell and I don’t let fake profiles add me. I can sniff out a fake profile like flies on sheeeeit.
