I recognize i have unusual beliefs but unusual doesnt mean disorder nor does hearing things people cant explain. Its beyond human comprehension.
When you notice that your delusions and voices are along the same line as other sza people like I have, you don’t doubt it. My symptoms are pretty typical, yet I have not been told that by a psychiatrist but by hearing people’s account of people they know. It helps to say yes I am sick, it means you are less sick. And to know some of your beliefs are unbelievable shows mental health professionals that you’re not too far gone.
My boyfriend says my bwliefs are typical… typical doesnt mean wrong
I don’t want to take your beliefs. I believe this might be a simulation.
It’s a disorder that affects roughly 1% of the population. I wouldn’t say it’s anything uncommon and it’s not normal to think such things which is why they are called delusions. This isn’t the place to swap theories about your beliefs. It’s counterproductive and inappropriate.
I’ll re-open. Please be civil and supportive.
My threads keep getting shut down. I never used to have this problem. I dont understand at all what im doing wrong.
It’s more people who add to them with things that aren’t allowed. I would say from what you describe you certainly are sz and you have the manic highs so it’s a worthwhile diagnosis. I re opened it so will see how others respond.
Isnt it possible i experience real things that not everyone does?
It’s smoke and mirrors and a part of psychotic disorders. It’s not uncommon although it seems like it is all real to you. It’s not a simulation and it’s nothing special nor supernatural. It’s faulty signals in your brain.
The real key is function. If your living a great life with all these thoughts then you wouldn’t need meds and you wouldn’t need help. At the moment you’d have to say your function is poor. You say that you are scared to leave the house. Even you know deep down it probably can’t be right but delusions are seductive. It’s normal for sz aff to say such things so your not saying anything that is suprising nor new.
I dont know what to say. Everyone keeps saying i have stereotypical sza now but now i dont see it that way
It’s about treatment with the appropriate medications anyways no matter what the diagnosis. As I say. It’s all about function. Your not functioning well at the moment but that will pass. You learn to surf with a mental illness so you ride out the bad times and you enjoy the good ones.
Your bouncing around a lot from your posts here. Keep in touch with your doctor if things aren’t working.
I dont even want to continue treatment. I dont think theres anyrhing wrong with me
You aren’t in a good state. Your pretty rational in some posts and others your worrying about unrealities. You need treatment so keep on the medications and your life is suffering if your unable to leave the house…Your function in the world isn’t very good.
I was talking about this today with my support worker some people have some of the things we do but are not mentally ill but it’s different for people diagnosed
How is it different?
They might just have one thing not a lot like us, like some people have reasonable paranoia but it’s different from paranoid schizophrenia, some people believe in weird things but it’s different from delusions
2 days ago you were talking about demons getting your bf…you are delusional and you need meds…please don’t stop taking your meds…you are ill.
