I sometimes go through periods where I couldn’t sleep. I’m in one now. It’s very frustrating. My dr prescribed me 100mg of hydroxyzine at bedtime a couple days ago. It gets me to sleep for about 6 hours
I may try that. Sometimes when I have tried that in the past I end up sleeping late into the next day though. Maybe I should shoot for early evening for going to sleep today. Maybe 6 pm or something,
I usually find after a few days that works. Last thing you want to do is compromise sleep hygiene by sleeping in the day!
My sleep is so jacked up it’s ridiculous. Its why I am on and off of here at weird hours. I don’t always say anything, but I’m popping in in the wee hours often.
I sleepxin 1 to 2 hour stretches, get up and stay up several hpurs, sleep again for an hour or two. Then I have nights I never sleep at all or nights I wake up about midnight and go back to sleep at 6 or 7.
I don’t take anything unless desperate. Usually melatonin and valerian.
When I was off meds I couldn’t sleep at night. I was haunted by hallucinations every night. It was really ridiculous stuff about witches and curses being cast on me. Since I’ve been on medication I always sleep well and if I’m a bit anxious and can’t sleep I don’t have those hallucinations anymore.
I work and I can’t afford to skip sleep. Luckily I rarely have insomnia. And if necessary, melatonin does the trick for me.

I have insomnia too and take imovane for it.
I have intermittent spells of insomnia too. Last night I slept maybe six or seven hours, but I 've been awake like for 24 to 32 hours occasionally.
Yea my sleep pattern is so sporadic. There is no clear structure. Working night shifts doesn’t help. I really will never know if I’m up in the night or the day or half half during days off. Lol
