It’s almost 4am and I have been trying to get to sleep off and on since before midnight.
Forum is dead and I don’t want to practice guitar on low volume half asleep. What to do? I guess I will try to get to sleep again. Probably will end up staring at the ceiling for 15 minutes and get back up to check on this thread.
I am switching from seroquel (the only thing letting me sleep) to Latuda and I am having the same problem lately. Hope you get some sleep. Insomnia became a major monster for me post-psychosis.
@Bowens i struggle with insomnia too. I just started using 100 mg at night of hydroxyzine and I’m getting 6 solid hours of quality sleep now. I’m not sure if it’ll help you though
Try really hard to not nap during the day. Wash your face in cold water, go outside for a walk, anything that’s active and not too comfortable when you’re starting to feel drowsy during the day.
I’ve read that if you can’t sleep it’s a good idea to get up and do something for a little while, then go to bed again. I’ve tried it before and it worked.
Too be honest it sounds like your sleep pattern is messed up, as you are able to sleep during the day. It’s really hard training your body to go back to a more normal cycle. Unfortunately it involves fighting sleepiness during the day.
Just making an appearance since my phone rang, before I go back to sleep. You’re partially right, my sleep pattern is messed up. But I also have times where I either don’t sleep during the day or like yesterday, only slept for an hour and still stay up for vast amounts of time. I ended up staying awake until almost 8am.
So its like a combination of tiredness during the day and sometimes napping during the day, and intermittent insomnia at night/early morning, regardless of the amount I sleep a lot of the time.
