I completed my first session of school as a full time student!! I’m sorry I haven’t been around much, but school has kept me very busy. I receive my final grades later this week, but went into the final assignments with A’s. In my Java class I went into it with a 100 average. I learned a lot about programming this session. My other class was on designing user interfaces. My teacher for that class was a hard grader, but I always got A’s. I think because she was a hard grader, it made me feel more so like I earned the grades I got. If I’m able to keep this pace I will graduate next August.
I’ve been doing really well. I’ve been taking care of our two cats and two dogs, plus our neighbor’s dog, plus my friend’s cat. I’ve been keeping on top of my chores. And I’ve been maintaining a relationship with Jason. On top of doing school full time. I haven’t been this responsible since my major relapse almost five years ago. It gives me hope that I can be a normal person, whatever that means. But I can be like my peers.
I did have a couple of meltdowns. One in front of my doctor. She was really worried about me because I was pacing and rambling on about disjointed thoughts. She’s never seen me like that, but I really can’t control it when I get like that. Oh well. They haven’t been happening too frequently.
Excellent @SunGirl- Great news!
Congratulations
That is all excellent news.
School… house… relationships… pets… lots on your plate and you’re getting it done.
I’m really happy for you. ![]()
It sounds like your recovering from the glitch days faster…

Congratulations on your accomplishment; that’s fantastic!
Good stuff. I myself have been at it with school. You only gain momentum with school, the grades you receive will only fuel the fire and make you want more. There are times when it sucks, but hey, you handled meltdowns very well so you are obviously aware of that already.
Great job. Remember that you can do whatever you truly desire. If you want to be a programmer, become one. Anyone who tells you that you can’t is jealous, anyone who tells you that you are just a schizo is worthy of blowing smoke in their face and maybe the calories burned in the process of raising the middle finger and giving an evil grin. You might come across people who don’t want to see you do well. Give them hell. If you don’t come across such people, be glad.
By the way, don’t be surprised at your performance, paranoid schizophrenics are often of above average intelligence, little known nuance of schizophrenia. Be proud. Some people in my program are just trying to pass, I am trying to build a resume to get accepted into a clinical graduate program on the other hand, and I am the “disabled” one.
Congratulations. I think we need to read more about success stories like yours. You have a busy schedule full of fruitful tasks that actually pay off to your mental health. Your high since of responsibility is definitely something to admire about you. Very well done please keep it up and keep is in loop of your news.
Congratulations!! It sounds like you are doing really well. I am glad for you!
HORRAY !!!
keep up the great work…grace
You are inspiring me (not to put much effort into Math, but other things). It’s good to see you doing so well. Keep it up!
Thanks so much everyone!! It was definitely a challenge, but I’m glad I pushed myself. Each of you have limitless possibilities, I’m not unique. Find your passion and give it your all. There are ways around this diagnosis. It doesn’t have to define you. Thank you so much for all of the support!!
that is awesome.
take care
