I Decided To Make a Talent

I decided to make a talent for myself. I don’t have any real natural inclinations or talents in things. My whole life, even if I tried, I was bad to below average at most things. So, I’ve come to realization that I don’t have any gifts or talents, no natural inclination towards anything.

But where am I going with this? Well, I decided to stop the self induced pity and make something. That thing I noted here before a while back, but I want to make an AI schizophrenic chatbot that students can use to practice talking to a schizophrenic. I am learning Python to code this AI, and so far I have over 300 lines of code written with help from an AI laying the framework and I taking it to the next level by putting my own experience into it.

How have you guys developed your own talents and gifts? And were they natural or self produced?

Nice. Are you using a chatgpt wrapper and a website or something?

Ive developed a “talent” for reading people. And actually a little bit of paranoia helps - it makes your more alert - so long as you stay grounded.

I can read a room in minutes - thru eye contact and body language.

It comes from a learnt defense mechanism - where my brain sees a potential threat. Even in the bars, for years i was people watching - and could predict a prospective drama about to kick off.

I suppose it cos i am super aware in public - and over time - you learn the skills.

I was thinking myself, and that’s what I’ve done already. But I need a bigger sample size.

I have developed talent at Bicycle racing and remote control car racing and drumming. It is natural love but self induced ability from doing what I love.

I don’t have any talents. I lost like 20 IQ points so I’m like 100-110 now.

I was pretty proud of myself starting at intermediate algebra and finishing at differential equations and linear algebra at community college in 3 years. I got all As.

I retook linear algebra and differential equations because I didn’t pay attention in those classes and I thought they were ‘too easy’.

I took a couple of upper division math courses for my math major and got Cs. It was like 1-2 years before my schizophrenia appeared.

I used to ride my bike and was pretty athletic and in shape despite not having a six pack and being clumsy on my bmx bike lol.

After I got sick, I did several hundred math problems, but seem to have lost some memory or abilities. I kind of wanted to finish my degree and be an actuary.

I never took physics, but like the subject. I’ve taken coursera and edx courses before.

Since I’ve been sick, I’ve probably read more than 100 books.

Intermediate algebra was a high school level class so it was remedial. I also started at remedial english.

I thought I was smart for a while. I went from a low 2.0 HS gpa to a 3.9 or so community college GPA and dropped out with a university gpa of 2.9. I transferred. I wanted to work in finance or something, but schizophrenia happened.

After I got sick, I tried keeping my brain active by learning things. I tried some programming and find it hard and struggle with consistency and motivation.

I don’t view myself as a coder yet. Maybe a code monkey of sorts. I know about functions, loops, and some other beginner type things.

My first language I learned was the scripting language python. I’m still learning.

I can’t really create a program with a GUI and make money doing that. I have a lot to learn.

I’m currently learning C in CS50x on EdX.

I am comfortable with HTML and CSS. I like the simplicity of python.

I never took a CS course. I’ve used wordpress for my blog and had my own website before, but it was hosted.

I can’t create anything complicated and don’t know data structures or algorithms. I want to learn more programming languages.
