I had a 4.0 my first two years of college then started flunking classes when I went psychotic. I’ve recovered a lot since then and have considered going back to school to finish my degree, despite the damage I no doubt did to my perfect GPA.

I think I have certain strengths but plenty of weaknesses also. I think that’s true of most people.

I think I lost a lot of my ability to solve problems when I got psychotic. So I guess I’m not that intelligent

I knew several people who had a breakdown in their 1st or 2nd term at university . The one that stood out was called Keith. He’d walk around the day centre grounds head tilted slightly downwards, hands clasped behind his back. That plus his looks gave him a ‘Jesus’ appearance.

Slightly above average according to intelligence testing (Yes, I realise its flaws.)

In some ways highly gifted, and in others borderline intellectual functioning

There are a lot of intelligent people here, and many of them have had a lot of time to think and learn. I think that is one reason I spend some time here.

To answer your question: According to the record of intelligence tests I’ve left behind, yes.

I used to be. Now I can’t do anything right. I can’t learn anything. I can’t remember anything. It’s really hard to deal with and makes me down on myself.

I graduated high school with a 4.5 gpa but in college my gpa was 3.0. I made As in all my classes except I struggled with one class and it brought my gpa down. I took that class twice and could only make a C in it.

I had my 1st psychosis during my 2nd university semester, I still managed to get my degree but that was on Abilify and I had severe addiction and hypersexuality issues.

As far as analysing other people in person im impeccable. But day to day tasks like finding the right change for my shopping and entertaining random conversation - im thick as shite.

I’ve had a full cognitive profile done by a neuropsychologist and her post grad team.

My processing speed and creative problem solving is over three standard deviations away from base. Working memory and the like are only one deviation away.

I have my strengths, and know my weaknesses. But what I believe is the true key is desire. A desire to learn and better yourself is what’s important.

When it comes to it though, I would consider myself average, simply due to not pitting myself against others. I’ve only experienced piloting my own mind, I can’t attest to others.

Idk if I’m intelligent or just educated. I mean I study different things and my major in college was print journalism so I know grammar (Though that was 20 years ago) or I knew grammar.

Before my Schizophrenia I was extremely intelligent — a very deep philosophical mind, after all is said and done my cognitive skill has gone down and now I’m just high functioning
