Left a message. I remember she said with my income I can move to several different apartments. I don’t want to move to the one 3 miles out of town. But all studio and one bed room apartment places have a long wait list.
You might want to put your name on those waiting lists. It doesn’t hurt. I put my name on a waiting list for a studio apartment and they told me I might have to wait for five years for something to open up. But I put my name on the list and forgot about it but 4 years later I was renting a room in a private home and I got called that a studio had opened up. So I moved in and ended up living there for 6 years. This was a long time ago. But you don’t know what you’ll be doing in four or five years. You might be in a position in 4 or 5 years where you really need housing. Just put your name on the list and go about your life and if they call to tell you there’s an opening you can take it or if you don’t want it simply say no. Putting your name on a list does not obligate you to take it.
Thank God you’re finally taking steps to get out of that place. Is your partner moving with you or staying with her parents? A studio would probably be a little cramped because of the animals, so hoping for a one bedroom for you at least. I’m so happy for you. Trust me, your life will be much better when you’re not being abused…
Man, this is the best news I’ve heard all day. Good luck!
I’m just getting on the waiting lists so far. Going to HUD office i think after my med clinic appointment Tuesday.
I want to live somewhere i can take my lizard and my frog. The cats will probably stay because technically they aren’t mine.
My partner said she wants to move with but she’s unsure of a way back and forth to work the closest HUD apartment facility is 3 miles from her work. I know she loves me so she said she’d follow me anywhere
@cbbrown I haven’t voiced my opinion about this, before now. Nobody’s abuse is acceptable. I’ve been in your shoes, my dear. While it’s scary, abuse is a deal breaker. I know things will be difficult, at first. I have faith that you will blossom. So great to hear!
