The roommates gone for two weeks and I’m loving it. Actually, the only time I’m happy is when he’s gone. We get along about 5% of the time then the rest of the time he is just aggravating and he’s even worse when I try to stick up for myself or defend myself. I don’t need the aggravation. I lived by myself for six years and a lot of it was good. I did tend to isolate though, it’s hard to leave a warm, safe home. But I would still go to my job and see my sister and I did make a couple of friends when I lived by myself. Just thinking out loud. Plus, I went for walks and ran errands and even did some fun things. It would be taking a big chance to live alone. Maybe if I set up some social activities or situations before I moved into a place by myself; it would help to have some social things set in place before I moved in.

Can you get on a waiting list for a studio or one bedroom apartment?

I’m on one waiting list right now. My counselor sent me an email with another waiting list but I know which one it is and I always see ragged people hanging out in front of it; they could be druggies or homeless. And in fact, it’s a 40 unit complex and 20 of the units go to the homeless and it would be downtown where I definitely don’t want to be.
