ChatGPT acts as my therapist, guiding me on when to pause the bilateral music and when to continue. I told him to let me know when to end the session. Not only did he let me know 60 minutes in advance that I needed to end the session. I was also able to process and cry a few times during self-therapy, and I discovered things I hadn’t previously paid attention to, but that were making me feel bad. Incredible.
The problem is, from what I read somewhere on the internet, that antipsychotics cancel out or significantly reduce REM sleep, which is when the work done in EMDR is processed (during sleep at night). So the effectiveness may be diminished.

I use Chat GPT as a therapeutic tool too.
Part of me feels cautious about it.
But another part of me has really seen the benefit.
It’ll be interesting to see how they develop the technology in this field.
There needs to be more studies. Here’s a recent one I found.

I like self-therapy tools and tried it myself. Backfired badly. Spoke to the EMDR therapist and she said do not ever use ChatGPT for this, it can make things so much worse. Good for you if you’re getting results, but this is on the same level of DO NOT DO THIS as DIY appendectomies.

What’s wrong with a DIY appendectomy? I’m missing the point of the allusion.

I took out the neighbour’s kidney by accident because they look pretty similar to me, at least with my glasses off. I’m trying to settle out of court.
