It is hard to not let those bad thoughts overtake me. I have done so many things I’m ashamed of. I just need to figure out how to let them go.

If you work out what you did that upset you and come up with a strategy to handle a similar situation so that it doesn’t happen again, your brain will stop bugging you about it (for the most part).
That’s what I have read/heard.
