I am not losing weight?!

so 10 days sober and low calorie and not a pound down - feels weird - In this time I would’ve lost like 3-4 pounds usually. anyway - I think it will be gradual and I am eating healthy.

I am drinking just plain soda sometimes at night - and it tastes like Gin - so not even craving any alcohol.

I think my metabolism is like - off

yeah I have that app but the stuff I eat are almost like today

1 banana - 120 calories
1 tortilla bread - 200 calories
0.5 cup milk with 2 coffee - 50 calories
1 swiss cheese - 100 calories
half a turkey breast - 50 calories
2 tbs mayonaise - 100 calories

1 soda - 100 calories
0.5 cup steamed rice -
0.75 cup peas and carrots -

So what’s it like? I know calories by heart and this is the most I eat in a day - like the maximum.

Try the app, and go with what it suggests and see what happens. I’m not an expert, but calorie counting worked for me. You shouldn’t go below 1200/day though.

It’s only been a few days, so give it some time I guess.

I’m trying to lose weight too and wasn’t losing weight, I went to gnc and bought this meal replacement powder to make shakes with…
-I drink a shake in the morning
-Then eat yogurt for snack
-Drink a shake for lunch
-Have orange for snack
-Then eat a relatively healthy dinner and I drink water throughout the day
I’m on day 6 and I’ve lost 8 pounds so far so I guess it’s working…

I wish to achieve weightlessness.

I either need to destroy gravity to do this or convert my body into something else.

Zero pounds, that’s my goal.

how is this possible? maybe just water retention?

I’m not exactly sure but this is what the scale says.

Just eat alot of vegetables man. Water and vegetables if you want to lose weight.

I saw an obese guy lose all of the weight by doing nothing but this.

It’s really easy.

I’d stay away from the scale for a few weeks or a month, it’s not all about the scale. You can have drastic health improvement and some muscle gain with no weight loss ,or even gain a bit. Especially if your working out.

You have a negative caloric expenditure, but interstingly enough when the body is in this state (the first consecutive 5-8 days) the metabolism shifts into a conservative state, meaning it will derive more kilocalories per gram than would regularly. And as a result weight gain of 2-5lbs is common. This is because in this state the body is burning muscle and storing fat. Thats not what you want, and the only effective method for reverting this shift is via cardio exercise. I would recommend at least thirty minutes a day followed by light weights pilaties or yoga. I would also recommend that since at least sixty% of your diet is carbohydrate you should consider supplementing with fiber. The fiber helps to slow the metabolism of the CHO into sugar and then into fat.

Try to work a little light exercise into the equation and jumpstart your metabolism. It takes a little while for your body to recognize the change and it helps to speed up the fat burn a bit.

yeah and I have gym membership - I just need to wake up at 5 am to take the car and go to gym afterwards in the snow - so it is like such a a hassle - not sure how to do it.

The older you get, the harder it is to lose weight, but I’m 55 and and this past year I lost about 30 lbs. I know low calories is recommended by many doctors, but low-carb diets are recommended too. Not every diet will fit everyone. Some diets will work for a lot of people but they won’t work for a lot of other people.
