I am jealous for people with high IQ

Mine is somewhere between medium or a bit higher than medium intelligence.
I know many people which are super duper smart and capable of many things… And I am jealous for their intelligence a lot!!! :hushed::unamused:

I’m not.

A very high IQ is only required in some jobs and I don’t want to become a university professor or researcher. Too boring for me.

I would disagree in some way,
Very high IQ helps in many life sphere’s.
The higher the IQ, the more things you can do or achieve!! It’s fascinating

A lot of people with high IQs are very dysfunctional in life and don’t achieve anything at all.

Moreover, I would say that on average they are less happy.

That’s truth Indeed… To many thoughts in their heads.

I also know the feeling as I was very high IQ as a kid. When I was 8 I took an IQ test at school and scored the level of a 14 year old. Hence, I was able to go to Uni at age 16.

But later in life I took a Mensa test and scored only 122. I have good numerical reasoning but there is also a spatial reasoning test and I score poorly at it.

So I don’t consider me high IQ anymore. And am happier with it, without the feelings of superiority which leads to disconnection with people and can be a cause of suffering.

Thanks for sharing, it’s interesting.
Honestly it’s interesting though I never felt super duper more clever than others.

I always needed to put effort at school, college or university. Sometimes LOTS of effort.
Personally, I know my strong side is empathy, intuition and being fast at tasks. Other things are medium -+.
And logical thinking, reasoning, math… I am terrible at these. Also, I don’t have a ‘good hands’ and what comes easy for other people, such as cooking, cleaning sometimes is even hard for me. :face_with_hand_over_mouth::sweat_smile:

Honestly, it’s super duper awesome that your score is so high… @Crystal-Cotton

It doesn’t mean anything

In my eyes, it does.
For people with high IQ learning new things comes easier.
Sadly, the bigger the IQ the better, but it also brings some problems, like @TheFountainPen said. Even such as being unhappy.

Moreover, as you want to be a Journalist verbal IQ is more important.

And that is not tested by Mensa tests for example.

Yeah. My native language is actually quite good,
That’s why I even tried working as a copywriter.

 and if I would put more effort into EN learning, I
believe it would be also a bit better.

I hope you’re able to put that intelligence to good use and do something good for the world.

Good luck.

Executive function is more important than IQ.
Because you need to be able to plan and execute tasks, otherwise you won’t get anywhere.

EQ is also more important than IQ.
Because you need to deal with people, to understand them and yourself.

We live in the era of AI and advanced software packages. Computers can help you with writing books or articles, solving math equations, drawing etc. Even people with an IQ below average can achieve great things if they want to.

lol no hope with autism and sz

There’s hope

Your issue isn’t usually autism or sz, as far as I can tell.
But the fact that you feel bored all the time. Maybe medication is to blame? I don’t know. But being so bored at only 19 isn’t normal.

Don’t you get curious about the world?
Don’t you get excited about doing or learning something?

Why was I diagnosed with autism and sz then if it’s not an issue

All the people here have one or both diagnoses.
But most of us still find interesting things to do.

Yes, I also get bored sometimes. I force myself to do stuff until I’m no longer bored.
