I am going to start taking losing weight seriously

I’ve been doing crunches on a yoga ball and glute bridges the last couple days…
Today I am beginning calorie tracking on an app..

@shutterbug

I know you’ve been very successful with weight loss..

Any tips or tricks?
How long has it taken you?

I would appreciate any advice you can give..

Have you heard of Dr. Now? He works with morbidly obese people though so I don’t know if he could help you. He’s used to working with people at 600 pounds you know so you might look into him and see what you think

How big of a calorie deficit are you planning to go for?

I’m not totally sure what that means lol

MyFitnessPal is telling me I should eat a little under 1700 calories a day though.

You should go for the slowest weight loss option, that way you’ll be able to stick to your calories. That’s what I found.

@everhopeful

I’m just so bad at sticking to things and I want things NOW

:rofl:

I hope you didn’t choose the fast option. You won’t be able to stick to it.

say you need 2300 calories to keep your current weight stable at your current activity level. If you keep your current activity level and eat 1700 calories, you would have a 600 calorie deficit, burning 600 calories each day.

Hope I didn’t F that up, correct me if I’m wrong.

I think that’s right.. @magz

I get what you mean about wanting things fast. I did a super fast weight loss before, but that was before I was on medications, also my willpower was super strong at that time, and I didn’t have a lot of weight to lose. I also see what everhopeful means about sticking to a slower weight loss. Anyway good luck! Do you have a lot of weight you want to lose?

Thanks for the words of encouragement @magz

My first goal is to lose 13 pounds..

Ideally I’d like to lose about 47 pounds, eventually…

your post made me weigh myself, I was sure that I would stay on the same weight year after year, cause I’m a person that can “eat all I want without gaining weight”, apparently I have gone up 22 pounds since weighing myself last a couple years ago. The pounds really sneak up on you damn.

A calculator say my ideal weight for my height is about 10 pounds less than I am. Not a lot, but the fact that it sneaked up on me.

Sorry didn’t mean to make the thread about me, but maybe I also need to start watching my weight a bit as well… it’s only gonna go up and up if I keep eating without care.

I’m in the same boat. to start with I deleted my takeaway apps. I have also gone gluten free to help with bloating. lets see where this goes.

Best of luck!

@Ish

I am sure it’s good for multiple reasons to delete the delivery apps.. not too cheap to order food often either.

My mum made pizza i didn’t eat :weary_face:

good stuff. that reminds me to start logging my foods in mfp, its 2pm i have 1,900 calories remaining, and that is after eating this morning and setting it to lose 2lbs a week (the maximum) one plus of being a big dude is that you can eat almost double the calories of most people and still lose weight, my linit is 2,500. idk how i survived on 1100 when i was 16 on geodon but i had no appetite then and had lost all my ap weight

I go by the traditional weight watchers plan. It helps to exercise so you can eat more and still lose weight. Also, I recommend eating more protein to keep hunger at bay! Leaving out carbs also helps. That said I am overweight because I love crisps and chocolate…

I gain weight even though I don’t eat much. Runs in the family. I’m guessing it’s because I sit on my ass all day clicking things. Gonna try cutting out carbs.
