You can propose. I have seen women propose before.

I proposed by making him a personalised book. Yet to get a yes 4 years on. He wants to but wants to live together first.

I’ve known you for more than 5 years, @anon25873142 - but we live thousands of miles apart. Things can’t possibly work between us, please be reasonable!

Darn it @Andrey . You beat me to that joke.

Have to be able to afford it. Which hasn’t been possible yet.

Does he work? Maybe you could live in a multi occupancy living, share a house and just have your own space?

He has his own house but he lives far and my job is in London. He has to wait until his mortgage is up to be able to sell his place and move to London.

Oh one of those situations?

Excuses. If he really wanted to he would have asked already. Buy that’s my honest opinion.

You have no idea what the house prices here are. But anyway… hopefully this year we’re going through with it.

Yeah I agree with @yinyang
Something doesn’t seem right

If he really wanted to marry you he would find a way.

It’s a poor excuse if you ask me.

Five years is a long time by today’s standards

Fair enough guys. I entered this relationship saying I didn’t want marriage but things change and maybe he’s still at that point when I’ve moved on.

And if he postpones another year? 2-years? Then what? What are you going to do? Because if I were certain to marry a woman, I would have asked already given that we have known each other for 1-year. But in your case you have known him for 5-years.

I would wait. Not like we’re planning to have children. But I just for some reason want this more than him.

What a waste of time.

@anon25873142 Do you mind me asking if he has MI? Because I could see if he were MI or something, maybe he still isn’t sure what he wants. Heck, I’m not sure if I’ll ever get married and I’m 31. On the other hand, I also haven’t been in a relationship for 5 years
