My sister is going to be here in an hour to help me clean up my place and I’m so embarrassed it is such an awful disaster. I am sitting here so nauseated. I hate feeling this way. I’m such a stupid waste of human space.
You are a beautiful, loving, interesting and wonderful woman. Just because your house got messy doesn’t mean you’re less. It’s no big deal. Stop beating yourself up. Take the help with the love that’s intended and love yourself too like we all do.

I get like that too. I cancel on my sister %50 of the time…than I feel bad for canceling.

My house is horrible right now as well, my old house. I dont let anybody in there, so ashamed am i. So i understand you feel bad. But it is good you dare ask for help.
And it says nothing about your worth as a person, at all. I know horrible persons with very clean and tidy houses and lovely people with the messiest homes.

Why don’t you go ask each of your kids what they truly think of you and see what they say? Hard to be a waste of space when those who you brought into the world love and need you.
edit: We’re schizophrenics. Nearly all of our homes are unkempt.

@FatMama I am in the same boat. I feel disgusting. We can get it clean, but have to break through this rut. Want to be my cleaning buddy? We can cheer each other on.

I think you’re pretty cool and i’m sure your kids feel the same way. You’re a good mom and a valuable member here. Don’t get too down on yourself. keeping a house clean is hard. So is sz. Doing both is almost impossible, i’d say. You’re gonna be okay.

Don’t feel bad. I have a woman who comes twice a week to clean my House. I can’t clean my house because of schizophrenia. So I appreciate her help so much.

My apartment is a mess too. It is only half clean. I still need to vacuum and change the cat litter. Then, I need to start all over. Housecleaning is really never ending. That is what sucks about it.

You are not a waste of space . We all have difficulty with some things. At my last address I was living in conditions that could have been shown on a “UK’s grimiest flats” programme. I really struggled to maintain my flat.
Here I have someone who comes in twice a week to clean which was organised by my stepdaughter… It also helps I’m in a smaller flat. The bigger flat was just too much, with more room to stockpile junk.
