Huge success today

I went to the gym by myself today! My husband arrived 30 minutes after I got there.

Huge success for me

I just did upper body so I didn’t exacerbate my healing broken ankle.

My husband asked me if I took it easy because according to him my body “is in deplorable condition”. Yes, I did.

I still worked my muscles until they burned for a bit but I did really light weights.

I hadn’t been to the gym since just before November 22nd when I broke my ankle almost completely in half.

Wow congrats for overcoming any social anxiety you may have had. Sounds like a step forward  hope you had fun at the gym

Thanks @POET .

It’s not social anxiety, it’s a fear that the men who follow me etc will kidnap and torture me.

I’ve been doing better for a few months now where I’m getting out of the house.

My new meds help me to feel more calm so I can keep telling myself to ignore my fears and keep refocusing on whatever it is I’m doing.

I see hmm good stuff glad you’re able to overcome that fear. I hope it diminishes all together over time. Must be a scary delusion.

I havent been to the gym since around that time too. I need to go back. I miss the summer as I feel better and can walk a lot in the sun

@POET yes, it’s very scary. But I want healthy friendships in my life and that requires getting out and about. I’m very thankful for my meds

@Aziz yeah, once you’re there, it feels good to be there. Good luck!

Nicely done @LilyoftheValley I’m happy for you. I am planning on canceling my gym membership in a few months coming up. I am dieting though.

Thanks @anon90992146 . Do you just not like working out?

Well I suppose I I don’t like exercise in a public setting. I prefer exercise at home. It was impulsively done when I signed up for the membership. I don’t really care for that particular gym either. @LilyoftheValley

Good job!

I have a delusion about 3 men tracking me. I understand the struggle.

But you did GREAT!

That’s amazing! Great job.

I’m trying to start a gym habit too. My DBT program recommends 20 minutes of exercise everyday. I think 20 minutes isn’t too bad, so I’m going to commit to going for just 20 minutes. I figure it will be over before I know it! But getting going is the hard part…

@Gamera , I think starting with 20 minutes is a great idea. It’s not so overwhelming that way
