How tulsi (holy basil) has changed my life

I’ve just discovered this beautiful herb which is used in Indian medicine , Ayurveda.

The herb has helped me so much I’d thought I’d share. You can purchase from a good herbal shop. I take risperidone consta injection and holy basil helps with the side effects so much.

I’ve been following Ayurveda (ancient Indian therapy for some time, using cows ghee, and now tulsi.

I must say you must try this wonderful herb if your stressed.

I’m going to grow my own, seeing how much this herb is helping me out, i gotta grow my own.

It’s holy basil, Indian name is tulsi. It’s helping me keep calm and collected.

One truly beautiful plant.

Their are about 17 different strains. The tea I’m having has 3 different strains of holy basil.

Not to be confused with Thai basil which you buy from the grocery store, holy basil has an effect on the nervous system, which calms you down. In Ayurveda it’s used for food allergies, and any allergies in general.

Give it a shot. It’s also used in Ayurveda for schizophrenia and anxiety.

Neat. Noted!

The first typical antipsychotic came from Ayurvedic medicine (Indian Snakeroot was the source of Reserpine), so I wouldn’t write them off so easily.

Holy Basil is good for respiratory issues. Its good to induce sleep so good for insomnia. It helps in anxiety too so useful if you experience anxiety or any positive symptoms. Good for digestion. Though it have several benefits it have side effects too. It lowers your libido and possibly testosterone and thus it can give fatigue, low energy levels. Due to its libido lowering property Its used as a male contraceptive in some Indian villages. But the effect quickly vanish soon after stopping it.

I haven’t noticed any sexual side effects. Neither has my girlfriend. But good advice mate.:grinning:

@pr21

Thanks for letting us know that. My sex drive is so high, the tulsi could tame it.

…like taming the beast lol

Chamomile Tea also gives Tulsi based effects without affecting testosterone. The effect is not so strong like Tulsi but gives calm feeling and safe for daily consuming due to its no affect on testosterone.

Avoid caffeine beverages like coffee, black tea, green tea etc.

Yeah, just read about how it reduces sperm counts so much it is being considered as a form of male contraception. Looks like a no-go.

That’s just stupid. Everyone drinks tulsi in India. I have no sexual side effects, maybe in rare cases some people might lower libido

We have some growing in a pot :flushed: I didn’t think that much of it but nice to see it has some benifits

I’ve decided to take it in spite of the testosterone reduction and subsequent fertility reduction (it’s androgenic.) The effects wear off in a month, and I’m not planning on having babies any time soon.

Also have to get ■■■■ done aside from having manic fever dreams.

It’s some good ■■■■. 1 teaspoon infused in 1 cup, brewed for a min or so, tastes ok with some milk and the brain pressure just deflates like a popped balloon in about a half hour.
