How to withdrawal an Antipsychotic ? How manage it ? And what about duration of the withdrawal ?.
You would do it by your drs instructions.
Supplementing helps. Vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Plus check out nootropicsexpert.com A few nootropics will probably help too.
Make sure your doctor knows what you are doing though.
If you are on a heavy AP like clozapine or olanzapine it might be better to try switch to a lighter AP like seroquel or latuda instead of trying to stop completely since it can be very difficult.
By tapering off very slowly
Withdrawals could last for months
However your doctor says to and only if your doctor says it’s okay.
I personally did reduce from 150 mg Amisulpride to 27 mg in the last 6 months. I did reduce 9 mg every two weeks. My psychiatrist told me to at most reduce 10% in one step. You can not be so stubborn about how fast the reduction should be. If you are not willing to increase the dosage again if you get psychotic you don’t understand me. A lot of things need to fall into place. You can not just hope for the best, you want to know.
Ok and have you lose Weight between 150 mg and 27 mg ?.
I did go from 120kg to 104kg. But it’s not only because of the med reduction.
So in three months you are free of Antipsychotics…congratulations !!!.
My low dose of abilify was 2 mg a day with liquid solution but After i did reduction too fast and i had a psychosis. Between 2 mg and 1.3 mg in just on week because i thinked i was saved of my abilify addiction.
Thank you. I don’t know if I will do it in three months. It hasn’t worked many times before. And what are the benefits between 27 and 0.
Ok i think if you are schizophren that 27 mg IS a low dose not dangerous for your health with low dose of prolactin associed with amisulpride.
Have you more energy with 27 mg of amisulpride than 150 mg ?
Yes I have more energy. But not that much. I think it’s most important to have enough energy. Once you have enough energy everything is possible.
Ok how many Time have you tried to withdrawal yours Antipsychotics ? And what was your low dose on yours former withdrawals ?.
I don’t know, 12+. This has been my last 5 1/2 years. I don’t remember the details.
I always wanted to rush it. I was not patient with anything.
I’ve gotten in trouble a couple of times trying to come off an AP. It’s probably not worth it for me to try to get off the AP’s I’m on. But sometimes I skip a dose of my AP’s if I am trying to stay awake for some reason. Sometimes it feels kind of good to do that, but other times I get a little too jittery.
How have you did to lose 16 kilograms ? Me i am successfull with a loss of 5 kilograms since novembre 10 2022, but it’s hard to lose Weight with my abilify.
It has been easy. And I am wondering myself. If you want to lose 20kg in 1/2 year you will not even be happy that you have success. If you do it in double the time, not only can you enjoy it, you can enjoy it for double the time.
Im currently takimg risperdal 4mg
Now i take half of the pill
Idk what supplements i need to help the withdraw
I’ve heard the process can take up to two years…
I use a scale and i count my calories to lose Weight . I decrease 1000 calories a day. I eat now 2400 calories and 2400/2500 calories before and i avoid sugar and fat in my alimentation.
