I barely do anything for myself. The negs and laziness got me a long time ago. But it feels as if I should do something for myself. Even if its small things.
What small things do you do for yourself?

What small things do you do for yourself?
Cook, clean, drive, eat at restaurants.
I pretty much do the same as nick. I’d add hygeine. You could start by just taking a shower if needed. Brush your teeth. I find just picking up helps. No real cleaning, but throwing away any trash and putting everything away.
Shower at least 3 times a week
Clean up messes before they become problematic
Detangle my hair at least 2 times a week
Eat healthy meals
Read.
I start my day by washing up brushing my teeth showering three to four times a week doing houshold chores listening to Youtube music videos and playing my cds that helps me zone out and unwind I love my family time but also enjoy solitude being alone by myself as well
i dont do that much. i drive sometimes. i shower sometimes. i make a sandwich or cereal. i throw away my trash.
Oh gawd I spend all day taking care of others and ultimately do very little for just me. It’s the reality of my life but I’m having a nervous breakdown because I feel very busy, stressed out and no way to make it better.
You can do everything, just read inspiration books and find technique that works everybody can be happy and productive
I started going to the gym…… well, today was my first day anyways ![]()
I want to make it a regular thing.
Grateful that my husband will watch our daughter so I can go do that.
Would you be able to sort out your own food ?
Like get groceries delivered and then cook stuff?
You could cook for yourself like @everhopeful suggested.
Brushing your teeth daily.
Regular showers.
Going for walks.
Lying in the sun.
Gym subscription.
Set goals. Start with small goals. Hit them and then move onto the next ones. Make bigger goals as time passes.
As somebody who was obedient and always strived to fulfill goals that were being imposed by parents, teachers or bosses, I recently (5 years ago?) realized I was unable to take ownership of my destiny. Every time I wanted to do something of my own accord, I felt shame and insecurity.
What do I really want to be? To do? To achieve?
These are the real questions I’m now asking myself and still find them hard to answer.
It’s a long, painful and entangled mental process.
The solution I’ve come up with?
Daily habits.
Life is but a succession of instants.
I don’t know what I want to be, to do, to achieve at any moment in the future.
I only focus on what I want now. And if it’s good, either for my health or for my self-image, I try to turn it into a habit.
So far this approach has worked wonders.
I get to spend more time doing things I find meaningful and rewarding.
If you are not sure then write “something more” in that field. In the meantime, if your current goals are unobtainable or unworkable, scale them back.
Unworkable: Keep home super clean and shiny forever and ever.
Workable: Move one box of stuff out of the corner of this room for this day. Start with the smelly stuff.
Most plans fail because they are too big. Always start small and scale up when you have to.
I already buy my own groceries and cook my own food.
I’m doing same things as normal people do… I may not be at the same mental state as them, but I’m still human, with human desires! I think that’s what you mean… you could take a career quiz to help you find manageable work.
What else do you want to do?
I wish I could read more. I also would like to start exercising but it feels too much of an hurdle to start doing. I would like to keep my home a bit more tidy.
There’s no life in me. It’s a problem.
Those all seem doable to me. Maybe just start with one and then after awhile once you’re good at that then attempt the others. Or get other goals you have a better chance at completing.
Make a list and go for it. I take care of my hygiene. Workout. Breathing exercises. Socialize. Clean. Have vegetables every day etc etc. if you want more ideas I can go on.
