How badly do you struggle to do things? Tricks and tips welcome

I lost interest in my passion, computer networking. So now i barely do anything. Its driving me crazy(er).

I wonder sometimes whether im just a king at procrastination or suffer from really bad neg symptoms.

How about you? Have you overcome this? Working on it? Any advise for those that are stuck?

I struggle a lot with even simple hygiene, showering, brushing my teeth, shaving etc.

Chores left undone, horrible guilt that I can’t bring myself to do anything.

I would be interested in tips too

Thats good advice. Basically stop thinking (worrying) and start doing.

yea, learned that one from warren buffet

Fear of eventually winding up homeless pushed me to do something. But everything is still way harder than it used to be. It’s like moving through molasses. All the things I used to enjoy like anime and video games just feel like chores now. It’s hard to recharge my batteries because everything feels like work.

I am just as stuck as you, if not more so. Of course, I don’t have that many responsibilities.

some time i think we just have to accept life for what it is at the moment and be happy with it and smile

At 77, my one outstanding symptom is avolition. I use a Recovery International spotting to overcome it. “Move the muscles and the mind will follow.” It works every time. We can’t control our sensations or our feelings. We can control our muscles, our impulses, our thoughts. Preprogram your brain with the spotting “Move the muscles and the mind will follow.” We can reeducate our brain by moving our muscles.

That’s cool. Great advice.

I struggle - oh boy do i struggle. In every day life where i’m responsible for looking after myself, i can be very neglectful. I barely help around the house in terms of housework. I don’t cook. I do work, though, and i do exercise. I’m just focusing on doing a couple of things. Pile on too much and it all falls apart.

I struggle terribly with motivation to do things that I don’t like to do. Like bathing and housework. I went eight months without cleaning my apartment recently. Lately, I have been taking stabs at cleaning it. For instance, I swept, dusted, cleaned and tidied my computer desk, cleaned the tub, cleaned the kitchen and did the dishes many times. I’m very proud of myself right now. I accomplished it through daily pr-yer. Now, all I gotta do is the hard part: vacuuming.

Unfortunately the depression, low mood hits me too.

Start out doing very small chores/tasks. Make a list and just have things you can pick to do for the day. Work towards getting the one thing done and just try to enjoy that you gotten something done for the day.
As far as hobbies go. Do you maybe have a hobby that you never have gotten to try yet?? Maybe this new activity will help get you motivated/excited.

I make lists of things to do and I stick to them.

I struggle to cook, I buy things I can put in the microwave for a few minutes.

The last time I made a full meal in the oven was in November. I made the boxed scallop potatoes, a piece of ham, and steamed brussel sprouts. That’s about how much I can cook. I tried making fish in the oven last year but I had to keep an eye on it at all times, it was pretty good. Takes a lot of concentration to cook things. I’m too young to be forgetting measurements the second I read it, and getting distracted and I forget what step I’m on.

I struggle with anything that requires multiple steps/sequencing.

I struggle to do almost everything. Hygeine, housekeeping, everything.

coffee helps me get going in the mornings

I struggle massively with control of my muscles due to my neuromuscular disease. It’s a progressive disease, meaning my muscles will waste away over time.
We’re looking into getting more braces to support my leg muscles, as well as adding onto the list of medications that I need to take to keep my muscles relaxed.
I would say a good night’s sleep is very important in maintaining your physical health, as well as regular exercise.
Always listen to your body and do not ignore your body’s warnings of fatigue because it can definitely slow you down. If you are having pain, please talk to a doctor.
And remember that you’re loved!

I wash my hands, my face, hair, and body quite well. I don’t feel scrub to a point where I leave marks, I just to it gently while subtlety telling myself that I am a divine handsome beast who deserves the best. I don’t say anything else. Just that and after 15 to 20 min I’m out.

Then I severely roast my high school bullies and anybody who’s been giving me unnecessary bs for the past few months; mind u that this is amongst close friends with no direct correlation with these folks. I got friends who understand mental illness quite well, cuz they’ve got their things going on as well.

So I just talk about how stupid they are and then my friends are like guess what? There’s someone who’s more ■■■■■■ up who caused me to almost emotionally breakdown during my 4 hr. shift . Let’s roast them too.

Finished! I know talking bad about ppl could mess up them chakra levels and what not. Buuuuut… ma mind is ma temple, & I can’t be keeping all that garbage inside expecting to manifest peace and clarity. Even some things that u feel like u might need to be thrown out sometimes, I’m just sayin.
