Lately I feel like I’ve been stagnant in therapy.
I feel like it’s hard to strike a balance between working on urgent short term problems and deeper seeded root causes of problems.
And idk how do y’all balance it or does anyone have any advice on how to get more out of it??
I started getting a lot more out of therapy when I actually started doing the homework.
I do a symptom journal,
Try techniques she recommends, though not all of them work,
And come up with an outline of what I want to talk about before sessions.
I feel like you could benefit from even talking about this exact subject.
Tell them you don’t know where to start and you can work from there.

I actually did bring this topic up today and unfortunately we weren’t able to get too deep into it today
Your suggestions are solid though I will try the outline thing

My therapist is a good guy and we are to do CBT therapy but from what I read and saw on the internet it seems to be about nothing.

I found cbt pretty helpful personally but it was more of just a starting point for me
