The major treatments for OCD are Antidepressants.
I can’t take them as they will make me Manic and Psychotic.
So I continue to live with my OCD symptoms unmedicated.
I do however take meds for my SZA.

It depends on which type of of ocd you have with your sz. Everyone with ocd has obsessive thoughts and most of them find a ssri antidepressant like fluoxetine helpful, but the compulsions are different according to which type they have, for example, one person may be the phobic type where they have to wash their hands many times a day to kill the germs, or won’t walk on cracks in the pavement of under ladders, even though they are not superstitious. where as another person may be the ritualistic type where they have to do things in a particular order, or check things a certain number of times.
There is also the obsessive compulsive personality type, where everything they care about has to be done exactly right and they also tend to line things up and they have to be in a certain order.

The typical treatment for OCD is antidepressants, but people with psychotic disorders tend to react badly to them. So I treat my OCD with neurofeedback therapy. It is a form of brain training exercise that trains your brain to no longer have conpulsions. I have been doing it for eleven years and it works amazingly for me. It is kind of expensive, but most providers offer scholarships or let you pay on a sliding scale.

I have pure O. I take fluoxetine.

For my phobia of chemicals, I used exposure therapy myself. 3 exposures a day for several months really brought the anxiety down for me. I no longer think about it, where as before, even the possibility of any chemical getting on my skin triggered anxiety.

Chlomipramine (TCA) also helped but I believe without the exposure, I would still be anxious about it. Still a lot of other things to be anxious about now that that particular anxiety is gone, though.

Had borderline diagnosable ocd. Cbt (cognitive behavior therapy) made it go away 70%, it’s not much of a problem anymore. I was instructed to meditate as well which i still do.
