are you treatment resistant or what medications do you take?
I have schizoaffective with ocd. I take risperidon, rexulti, cymbalta and topamax
I do.
No amount of meds helped my OCD symptoms.
I had to do CBT in therapy to get a grip on those.
Still struggle from time to time,
But it’s a lot easier and my quality of life is much better.
You can get books on CBT that would probably really help.
I have OCD and schizoeffective disorder. I take Fluvoxamine ( luvox ) and lurasidone which is latuda, also Risperdal and buproprion. My OCD is terrible compared to the schizoeffective disorder. OCD really sucks.
Have you tried clozapine?
How long have you been treated and if you have been in the hospital
Yes i was on Clozapine for about a year and had to discontinue because of tachycardia.
have you been to the hospital
Many time’s. At the VA.
The only manifestation of my ocd that has ever been specifically treated is excoriation disorder with only partial resolution. No, I have never been hospitalized specifically for ocd. I have been hospitalized, idk, maybe 10 times. I’m a rather patient and easy going oc, I just drive others crazy.
I have OCD with bipolar/SZA
did you have symptom that others know your thoughts?
what medications do you take??
Yes, when I don’t have the right meds I do get scared that others can hear my mind
I do. But I am not on any medication
How do you manage symptoms without drugs?
For OCD, none
I can’t take antidepressants
I had pretty bad “pure-O” during my prodromal stage.
It’s still there to some degree, but at the time it was at its worst, it was truly debilitating.
I was prescribed citalopram, which did fuuck all for it .
Use more psychological approaches as opposed to pharmaceutical
I am diagnosed with sza and ocd. I have tried many meds and seroquel helped the most. Though i am currently not on anything
