How often do you see your mental health professional?

I see my community mental health nurse every four weeks, my psychiatrist every nine months and attend groups with my support worker every week . I think this is more than enough and seem to be making progress . I am glad I live in the UK as all this is free on NHS and wonder how this compares to other parts of the world ? I am diagnosed with schizophrenia, depresion and anxiety.

Why I haven’t community mental health nurse or support worker? what kind of job they do for you if you don’t mind me asking ?
I just have a psychiatrist for my mental health who I normally see every 5 o 6 weeks.

I go to the depot clinic every fortnight(usually) and see my nurse practitioner every 6 months.

I see my mental health nurse every 4 weeks for a depot and my psychiatrist every month. I used to see him every 6 months to a year but I had a break and switched meds so he wanted to see me every month because of that. I haven’t decided to ask him for longer time between visits yet.

I see my nurse every three weeks for my injection (got it today), and currently I see my psychiatrist every two months, though sometimes we drop down to every three months.

I go to an autism foundation for adults as I am diagnosed with autism, schizophrenia, depression, and anxiety. I see my life coach from the autism foundation a few times a week only thing is he gives me tips on independence and such but still supports me in my decisions. He is only limited with schizophrenia as he doesn’t deal with it a lot, depression and anxiety are common with autism, not so much depression but a lot of anxiety. As for my psychiatrist last time I saw them was a year ago. I’ve been trying to see them since January and they just keep pushing the date forward, I was supposed to see them about 2 weeks ago but they pushed that date to June now. It seems every time I go to see them they push it forward. I live in Canada and health care is free also. The province I live in though is in bad shape for mental health, well health care in general. I am learning to be a resident care worker which is in the health field and I learn a lot about my provinces rates and we are pretty bad compared to the rest of Canada. Yet we are so unknown not much is done. We have a lack of doctors and for most things have to be shipped to the neighboring province. We have a handful of psychiatrists and none of them give a rats ass or can’t cause they have way to many patients and can’t keep up. I’ve actually been considering going to the next province just to get a prescription because the doctors here never meet me.

I’m on 13 years post-nervous breakdown over PTSD, voices ran whole time medicated or not. I worked, went to school, socialized, moved all over, self supported but don’t sleep okay enough to handle down full-time job that would support myself any more. I get meds management from ARNP twice a year. The therapy here is horrible as they are covering up a lot of sex abuse of females and offer no good coping information for relationship problems…so gave it up. No need for case management again since 13 years ago. I self supported working full-time in life/death work for 13 years in 3 jobs before my nervous breakdown/psychosis so I know how to handle all and who to ask if I do need some help.

My CPN (Community Psychiatric Nurse) helps me with managing my condition and any other issues that come up . I dont get injections all my meds are oral but if I did they would do this also.
My Support Worker takes me out into the community and will come along to just about anything I want to do.

"How often do you see your mental health professional?"
not enough…
lol just kidding

I see my nurse (R.N.) every other week, for my depot injection. I see my peer support worker, on alternate weeks. I see my social worker every month. I see my pdoc. every three months.

Tdoc every month, and Pdoc every 2-3 months (depending on how I’m doing).
