How much weight have you gained over how long?

Zyprexa is what caused me the most weight gain. I went from 120 to 140 on Risperdal and then from 140 to 190 on Zyprexa.

Welcome to the forum @tony1969

I gained 80 lbs (36.29 kg) in 1 year on Zyprexa.

However, I then lost 47 lbs (21.32 kg) in 7 months while still taking Zyprexa.

I havenā€™t lost any weight over the last month which means my calorie intake of 1500 per day is too much.

Iā€™m going to work my way down to 1200 calories per day so I can lose the rest of the weight.

I havenā€™t weighed myself in a month but I recon I put on a good 10 lbs this month unfortunately. Fighting to get it off again. Not worried as up until then I had a great exercise routine. So itā€™s just a matter of picking up those habits again. I can lose weight fast

I have gained probably close to 100 pounds in the 20 plus years I had been on psych meds my lowest weight Before being on meds was, I think 83 to 90 pounds I am only 5ft3 and was anorexic then and wouldnā€™t eat much also had bulimia they watched me like a hawk when I was in the mental hospital the only time in my life at the age of 25 I think it was in 2003 I am 48 now I never been in a mental hospital since then which is a good thing recently quit taking all my meds including my psych meds at first I was really manic when I stopped but not so much now I think because I have been sick and donā€™t feel like talking much it takes a lot of energy and breathing to talk so I have been fairly quiet lately for the past month and talking on occasion when asked questions or something pops in my head I talk to my parents. My Weight has gone up I thought stopping the psych meds I would lose the weight but in fact I gained like 11 pounds here recently been hungry all the time and thirsty but mainly really hungry and eating like crazy the prednisone was the culprit, but I have gone off of it due to itching and causing more breathing v issues so it should not be affecting me anymore but other issues could be causing me to eat constantly and hungry from morning to night like perimenopause which I am most likely going through because my periods skip two to three months I donā€™t get regular periods every month and that can lead to weight gain I donā€™t know the cause thatā€™s my guess though

Before APā€™s, I didnā€™t have to watch what I ate. I stayed thin. In addition to APā€™s, I am getting older. That combo has made me gain a lot.

I weighed about 140lb when I first started risperidone around 1994. I think I gained to about 180 over the next five years. I gained about another 30 lbs after I quit smoking but got back down to 180 by walking every day for 45 minutes. I got married in 2009 and six months later sprained my ankle and gained about 20 lbs. I took a lot of that off by dieting and physical therapy. Weight went up and down a bit after that probably mostly due to family stressors. Right now I am about 210 lbs.

I am currently, very, very slowly losing weight through a combination of intermittent fasting, calorie restriction and portion control. I keep my calories at 1200 per day, and fast from 7 pm to 7 am.

So far, Iā€™ve gone from 170.8 lbs. to 167.2 lbs. And I keep losing every day. And my clothes are fitting so much better!!

My weight gain IS 15 kilograms under abilify and others meds in 14 years. My worst weight was 139 kilograms in the end of february 2023 and now 114 kilograms with regimen and one hour daily of bike housing.

Most recently twenty kg in a year.

I have had quite a few weight gains and losses but Iā€™ve never been this obese til recently.

Gained about 130 pounds since pre-antipsychotic time. I was 165-170 all through high school and to age 20. Then I started to gain after getting put on APs. I gained up to 260 on Invega. Then I gained up to 296 over the couple years after. I got put on weight neutral meds and have managed to lose down to 219 now.

I gained about 50 pounds after getting my sickness until a few years later and I gained another 50 lbs. I have stayed the same weight for thirty years except for an extra 5 lbs from the sugar I intake. So Iā€™m 255 lbs.

I have given up on losing weight because my body objects severely. Itā€™s impossible.

Feels like I wonā€™t lose anymore weight too unless it is a slow steady loss and I love food so much it is a barrier to weight loss that I canā€™t surpass.
