How much weight have you gained while on antipsychotics?
I gained almost 70lbs while I was on Invega but a lot of it was probably due to lack of activity. I am slowly losing weight on Aripiprazole (Abilify) now. I have lost almost 20 pounds. I would be happy with 35 to 40 more, I don’t really need to go back to my pre med weight since I was super skinny from fasting (long story).
I gained over 100lbs+ in under 10 years because of anti-psychotics, living a sedentary lifestyle and being depressed overall about life. When I was not on anti-psychotics from 23 to 30 years of age I weighed from 189lbs to 198lbs. On antipsychotics from 31 to now 42 years of age, I weighed a maximum of 340lbs to what I am currently now which is just above 300lbs.
Yeah I’ve gained 75 lbs in the 20 plus years I’ve been on Ap’s I was 230 lbs when I started now as of this morning I’m 305 lbs. I just can’t loose weight!

I gained 85lbs from APs over a year. I lost 45lbs of it but have sadly gained it back since going back on clozapine
Losing weight is possible since I have lost just under 40lbs. One, really has to lead an active lifestyle, do intermittent fasting and eat healthy if one is to lose the weight. Long-term committment, dedication and discipline is really required.

I’m on zyprexa. Gained about 40 pounds since starting taking meds almost 15 years ago. Weight has been stable for a long time.
I just try to stick to meal plans, 4 meals a day usually with reasonable portions, and try to avoid eating stuff inbetween.
Excersise probably doesen’t hurt either.
