I just got a notice to serve in June.
This is the 5th time in my life I’ve been selected.
Some people never get called at all.

I’ve been called up twice. Both times i said that it’s likely the judge knows me from commitment hearings (it was true at the time). They’ve never called me back to serve on a jury, which i was disappointed in, cuz here they pay you a little to serve on a jury. I was hoping to make a little money.

I was contacted four times. That’s ridiculous. My husband‘s never been called even once.

The last time I received a summons for jury duty was about 30 years ago. I didn’t make the jury in a civil case.

3 times in my life so far but we get a lot of lee way as we have mental illness we can send proof of disability to get out of it.

Once when I was 19, I got out of a pretty high profile case. I just said I have schizophrenia during the voir dire process

Tell them you’re schizophrenic and they’ll excuse you from jury duty. I heard there’s a certain form you can fill out and it excuses you from jury duty for life but I’ve only been able to get out of it a year at a time. Maybe you want jury duty.
I’ve been called about 5 times and have gotten out of it each time.

In California, your doctor can write a letter stating you should be permanently excused from jury duty for medical reasons. Then you just submit the letter online to your county court’s jury website.

Yeah, I thought I submitted a form like that but they called me for jury duty about three years later.
