Three times for DUI over a period of about 20 years of hard drinking. I got away with a fine each time and the last time I got a heavy fine and suspended sentence. I’m not proud of it. I stopped drinking in late 2005. I still take the odd glass of wine but I’ve been sober since.
Cuffed to the hospital twice
A couple of times. Both during my period of extreme drinking, in which I caused quite alot public disorder and was also agressive. Both episodes could have been avoided if I had listened to people close to me. I regret that, since I was forced on an injection because of it.
Once when I was on a international bus route, I was pulled out at the border and accused of smugling drugs. They believed that I had carried a bag of som illicit substance aboard. I was detained until a dna sample proved me innocent. It was very scary, and I feared going to jail for 10 years, for something that I didnt do. Sadly I guess the officeres had singled me out because I had a long beard and perhaps looked like the usual suspect. I was released without anyone even telling me anything, and half of my belongings where missing. Not fun.
ive been arrested once.voices told me to jump on car roofs.i did about 3 when the police turned up and I spent night in jail!!got a £1500 fine for that.been detained 2 or 3 times as well.had the privelige of being pepper sprayed by a jumpy policeman.thankfully that’s in the past.dont get voices anymore after going on clozapine.
Last night lol
This guy had a pot and I was with him. Suddenly a police jokes were not funny anymore.
What country are you in?
This seems like a great way to help people. In the US we hear a lot more stories like @turningthepage has had - lots of unncessesary legal feels, etc.
Great to hear. Seems like a pretty common issue/result of the medications as I read the posts here.
Legal feeLs? ![]()
So that’s what ‘copping a feel’ means!
Can’t speak to life in the Excited States, but I wasn’t stuck with any fees and the truth is that I was treated very well by all involved. Just didn’t appreciate it at the time.
10-96
Likewise for me since I got off Paxil and probably off anti-Ds in general. (Not good stuff for bipolars.)
US. (post needs to be 15 characters…lol)
I agree, with the legal fees thing you mentioned, and sadly many mentally ill have died at the hands of untrained police officers, especially here in the US. I get saddened by the case of Miriam Carey, who got killed by Washington DC police, but suffered from many mental illnesses:
A lot of the police are not trained to handle such cases and are just trained “shoot to kill” regardless the circumstances.
Once the mentally ill victim is killed, the media always blames their death on their mental illness, instead of sucking in their pride and realizing that maybe the police used unnecessary deadly force against a mentally ill person.
My boyfriend does he’s gone off the deep end because of pot and beer.
I’ve never been arrested but I had a warrant out for me but I turned myself in at the jail and spent the day there. For a lousy speeding ticket.
Twice or three times, maybe 4. but most of them were linked together with only one having nothing to do with it.
All have been linked to my schizophrenia and most have been for not taking medication, so nothing really serious.
Just arrested taken to the hospital given my medication and released.
Its been years and years…I don’t cause trouble any more…im to short for that stuff.
