My uncle on my mum’s side has schizophrenia, but i think his developed primarily from drug abuse. Other than that, i have an uncle on my dad’s side who struggles with depression. Lucky me i got both. But, on the bright side, i’d rather be who i am with these issues than someone with…say…a terminal illness.
My uncle was once diagnosed with sz, back a few decades when everyone with weird behaviour was, but they withdrew the diagnosis. Nobody knows what he has. My guess would be an autism spectrum disorder with an anxiety disorder and psychosis nos. Or still sz. He avoids psychiatrists like the plague atm (it runs in the family ;)) so who knows. He is doing well though.
