How many of you are on a benzodiazepine

It’s really a life saver for me. Benzos have kept me out of the hospital more times than I can count. I only use it when I reallyyy need it.

I have really bad insomnia. I take 1.5mg of clonazepam every night before bed.

I use to take 1mg lorazepam PRN for anxiety, but I rarely took it.

i completely agree. i think every schizo should have a script for a benzo. i was on xanax and they changed it to klonopin. i start the klonopin in a few days, should help me better

I got addicted to Ativan. Withdrawal was fuc*ing horrible.

I was on 30mg Diazepam for about 3 years

Down to 5mg now

Pregabalin has been a life saver, and there is no tolerance built up to it as yet

I was on Klonopin for a while, but my pdoc took me off it when I told him I had give a could of those pills to this girl who was jonesing for heroin. He recently put me on Buspar, which isn’t a benzo I don’t think, but it is supposed to good for anxiety. I hated it. I asked my pdoc to take me off it because it made me sullen.

I took Ativan forever. I was up to 2 mg at a time before they cut me off. I completely black out on it. It’s sort of like drinking too much. I still take it every once in awhile for my traveling phobia. I can’t be a passenger in a car going highway speeds without totally sedating myself with Ativan. I just call my Dr. up and say I’m going out of town and she calls in the prescription. I get 2 mg for on the way there and 2 mg for on the way back. The next day I have no memory of the trip basically.

I don’t really take it anymore. Just increase my AP if needed.

I carry a bottle of valium in my handbag but don’t take them. They make me feel safe when I leave the house.

I have Diazepam as an “as required” medication if I have trouble. I don’t use it on a regular basis.

Yes @TheCanuk benzo withdrawal is the worst. I was addicted to a high dose of Xanax and was in rehab to wean off. The withdrawals was far worse than opiates.

Today i take once in a while a small dose of oxapazepam but i will never abuse them again. They really help me on occasions.

I’m on klonopin .5mg three times daily.

It’s been a good drug for me.

Though I fear the day I have to come off of them.

I take Clonazepam when I’m manic or in a mixed episode. I also take it, sometimes, if my cervical dystonia is acting up, pretty badly.

I use Klonipin 0.5 mg prn when I have especially bad nervous agitation. Also during the rare times I have insomnia.
