How many of you are on a benzodiazepine

I take diazepam for anxiety PRN. I use it as infrequently as possible.

I take Xanax for the rare occasion where my brain is so bad it won’t let me get to sleep. That stuff knocks me out, but it lowers my mood, so I don’t really like it.

I agree Opiate withdrawal is nothing compared to benzos ■■■■ is straight hell

i have lorazepam as a prn.

I take 3 .5mg daily of Klonopin. Might be upping it to 4 times daily :badger::badger::badger:

I take zolpiclone (I believe it is benzodiazepam) once or twice a month.

That’s what I told my doctor. I wanted a prescription for lorazepam 1mg PRN. I rarely used it but I felt better just knowing I had it just in case I had some really bad anxiety.

I was dependent on 0.5mg/day clonazepam about 2 years ago. I was on it for about a year for these awful headaches I had, it didn’t fix the problem but it masked the pain, oddly enough it was a 1 week combo of magnesium and melatonin that cured the headaches once and for all. once the headaches went away I had to slowly wean myself off clonazepam over a period of several months, but I still had 3 weeks of withdrawals after my last dose, I had episodes of lying in bed feeling like total sh*t, kinda like an anxiety attack type feeling, they would come and go and lasted about an hour, but after that I was fine.

Now I am back on 3 times as much, 1.5mg of clonazepam all at once for insomnia before bed. If my insomnia ever goes away and I am able to sleep without clonazepam I’m going to have to go through the withdrawals all over again, but I think this time will be worse because I am on a much higher dose.

Don’t you find the benzos a really good help for the paranoid szs, on which even the aps can’t lower much the paranoia? Or despite that, the docs in your country don’t prescribe them often?
I am so severe case, that sometimes I can get all shaky inside of me, all weak, not standing on my feet by fear and experiencing all kinds of physical hallucinations… I really will need more time on my ap to fix that… until then, I am on klonopin , every day yeah… I take 1 mg… But it doesn’t help my body (conversion) disorder, which is also caused by the ill psyche :smirk:
I am a severe case, my pdoc said, that I’ll need years to recover on the zyprexa. Nothing else didn’t work… now, I should expose more to the life and stop switching aps…
But in my country, ex communist country, they prescribe easily benzos… I take it from my gp even… Lots of people take them, but me too I fear the time, when I’ll have to stop them. I hope, that I’ll be stronger in my mental then…

Zopiclone is not a benzo but ”similar”

As @Yellowdiamond said it is similar. Zopilcone acts on GABA like a benzodiazepene does but it is known as a Non-benzodiazepene hypnotic

I was on Zopiclone for about a month, every night 7.5mg but it wasn’t strong enough, it only put me to sleep for 5 hours.

So are you using a stronger sleeping pill at the moment? I feel a little relieved to know that zolpiclone isn’t a benzo, my pdoc and therapist talk like benzo is one of the worst thing in the world.

Yeah, I am on a Benzo and it is much stronger.

1.5mg of clonazepam (Klonopin). I’ve tried numerous herbal and pharmaceutical products to sleep and clonazepam is the only thing that put me to sleep for 8 hours. So far it has worked out great.

That’s because you can become physically dependent on them and the withdrawals are brutal. I’m probably dependent on it at this point. There is a very real chance that if I just quit cold turkey I could have a seizure and die. You have to very slowly taper yourself off benzodiazepenes over a period of months.
