Rebound psychosis comes immediately after quitting

If you believe in past lives do you believe in karma?

Sometimes I take a break from meds for like 1 week. It makes it hard for me to sleep after a few days. I’m on a low dose of Haldol at 1mg for about the last 10 years. I’ve been living a normal life but still don’t think I can come off meds. Sometimes when I try I start to feel weird after about 5 days, although I haven’t gone into psychosis yet. I’m not sure if I feel weird because of schizophrenia or because of coming off the meds. Anyone have any idea?

Originally I believed in karma. Then I started believing in Sin instead. Sort of became a Christian over time. Not sure what to follow or believe sometimes.

There is no such thing as rebound psychosis
You don’t Un-break your leg if you stop taking paracetamol
Maybe you have not seen what happens when a schizophrenic relapses
Fine for 6 months then BAM untreated psychosis for a year or more and worse outcome for life
My experience is that schizophrenia is frequently progressive

You dont understand.

I do not say all psychosis is rebound - some is.

Why do my doctors, based on scientific research and clinical experience, acknowledge there IS rebound psychosis and i probably suffered from it? I and my doctors know more about what i experienced than a random stranger on the internet.

And why then, do people (including me) who were prescribed AP without ever having suffered psychosis, suddenly get psychotic in withdrawal?

And why is cold turkey quitting more difficult than slow tapering?

There is simply scientific knowledge that the brain is damaged and sort of overcompensates due to medication use. Read the scientific literature if you dont believe me.

If you want to take the broken leg example…the leg can be more weak after removing a cast. Or the paracetamol…you can suffer rebound headache after long-term paracetamol use.

Would take the year

I hope that they continue to sell Ziprasidone in my mother land or my life would go in a disasterous direction.

I was newly diagnosed and didn’t like Geodon as it was making my fingers swell a bit, so I went off Geodon for five days, went to a pdoc appointment and was escorted to the hospital for an evaluation because I was exhibiting psychotic symptoms. I was discharged after being evaluated overnight. I found a better pdoc and stayed on my medication. It scared me to go to the hospital. It’s not worth going off your medication. You’ll eventually end up in the hospital. In the beginning, I spent eight days in the hospital after going their voluntarily to get a diagnosis not knowing my rights would get taken away. It was awful. Everyday I asked to go home. However, I was having side effects on the medication, but on only 80mg of Geodon I wasn’t having side effects in the hospital, so I was finally discharged with a schizophrenia diagnosis. Stay on medication. Seriously.
