I think an episode is the same as a psychotic break or a nervous breakdown. My last psychotic break was in 2001-2202. I am still recovering. Insight for me is the gradual realization that I’m mentally ill and that I have schizophrenia. This began in 1973 in psychoanalysis with Haldol. The insight for me comes from being introduced to new AP’s and from talking to psychiatrists, not from being psychotic. I may have had five or six episodes over 50 years.

I’ve had 3 psychosis episodes. I don’t count myself hearing voices an episode.

I count when I lost contact with reality and was oblivious to anything being wrong
