How long do you guys diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder have to wait till u can stop meds and be norml for a while or perhaps permanently.
I don’t think you get to go off meds ever. I think you pretty much need meds for life to stay stable. That’s what I’m finding out. Every time I go off meds it just makes me worse. I get sicker and sicker. This time I’ve pretty much decided I’ll just stay on and try to get my life back to some type of order. I’m hoping to get better enough to go back to work maybe.

I find it hard to work I’m on abilify and lamictal I have no motivation to talk to people still I’m trying sarcosine to see if it will help .I have see many videos of people claiming to be cured of schizoaffective disorder some “delivered by Jesus Christ” I do not understand what they mean by it. I just hope I’m one of the lucky ones

I don’t have SZA, just SZ. Have been on meds for 25 years. Every time I go off I relapse. I can pass as normal while on meds.
25 years I have been on meds for 3-5 months and I can’t stand it .feels nothing like the real thing took it for granted
The first 5-10 years are the worst in my opinion. I’m on my 7th year.
Not everyone gets remission.
I don’t wait anymore, I am off my antipsychotics, but I hav to forever take other things to keep me well. Most people need something to remain well

I guess everyone has a different course or prognosis. Mine is a severe case. I think some people are very fortunate.
