When did mental illness start and how long have you been sz/sza?

I was diagnosed when I was 39. I’m 55 now.

Things were “off” with me since I was 16 though. I think I suffered from “insidious schizophrenia” where things went more wrong inch by inch as time went on.

I have had mental illness of some kind pretty much my whole life. I had undiagnosed ocd as a kid. I had diagnosed anxiety in my 20’s…which existed before that. And I was diagnosed as sz at 42 or so. IM 51, almost 52, now.

I’ve been severely OCD since I can remember. And schizophrenic at 15. I’m starting to realize I may have had some psychotic experiences when I was a kid.

I was 5 when diagnosed with ADHD and 22 with sz I’ll be 32 in April

I think I had symptoms growing up. I had a psychotic break from pot in 2011 when I was 22 years old. I got diagnosed with schizophrenia at 23 years old or about a year or so later.

I’m 35 years old now, so it’s been 12-14 years I’ve been sick. I haven’t been able to motivate myself or recover enough to get a job or career going or finish school. It sucks.

I’ve learned sort of to be happy and content with my life.

Diagnosed with schizophrenia at age 20/21, currently 29. Developed prodromal symptoms at 16/17

Diagnosed major depressive disorder with psychosis at age 14. Changed to schizoaffective disorder bipolar type when I was 20. I’m 27 now.

I was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 1984 at age 20.
In two weeks I’ll be 61 years old.

My prodromal phase started when I was about 16 or 17. I was diagnosed in 1980 at age 19 so I’ve had schizophrenia 45 years (I’m 63).

I first saw a pdoc a few months before I was 17. I was put on anafranil. Prior to that I’d gone from being introverted and shy to being socially phobic just before I was 14. That was due to verbal bullying The depression, which gradually increased in severity, started when I was 15. The sz dx came when I was 18.

Mine started at 16 and progressed until I was hospitalized and diagnosed at 21. Im 38 now. Had it for more than half my life at this point.

Depression from age 16. Horrible anxiety/panic attacks from age 23. Psychosis/Sz from age 30.

I’m 42 years old.

What really messed me up was my anxiety. That sh-it is out of control.

When I first realized I was depressed, I was 11 years old. Psychosis started at age 19. Diagnosed with schizophrenia at age 20. Now I am 37 (38 really soon) years old.

Think I’ve always had it. Became noticeable at nineteen and got treatment at twenty nine. I’m forty four now.
