How fast would I become psychotic if I quit my meds

I can go 24 hours. That’s it.

Someone on here said they were off meds for 5 years before a relapse it varies one time I got off meds and lasted 3 months another time only 1 month

For me, I went to 6 months and then had acute psychosis.

How fast? According to statistics you have a 95-97% chance of relapsing without meds.

Why do you insist on doing the one main thing that can improve your life?! You need meds. Just take them!

Yeah but how long will it take

You should cut your dose in half first. Wait a few weeks and see how you feel and go from there.

I skipped yesterday’s dose already

You’re still suffering from occasional bouts of paranoia. Chances are you’ll get mean and hostile which coupled with non compliance will put you straight in the uncooperative, potentially dangerous category. Your position will become even weaker.

I will start the meds again if I start hallucinating or being delusional

You don’t suffer from hallucinations or complex delusions, just paranoia about those around you. So you won’t notice it very easily, and you might snap. WHat do you think will happen if you threaten someone or start talking knifes again “for your own protection”? When you say psychosis you’re thinking of the experiences you read on here, which are quite different from yours.

That was the way it worked for me, but I think I went around 8 or 9 months before I became psychotic again.

Why wouldn’t i notice it?

Because you’ll believe you have grounds for mistrust even if you don’t.

I wouldn’t ever hurt anyone though

Just threatening to hurt someone, or being hostile and overargumentative will be enough in the eyes of your carers.

what would happen to me then?

Also I think u should admit that youre sz

The problem is that when you are delusional you probably won’t know your delusional until your back on meds.

When people are delusional they often don’t know it. They think they are fine, and everyone else is out of line. It’s like you’re not on the beam, and you don’t know you’re not on the beam, because you’re not on the beam.
