How does everyone take care of their appearance?

In the past would go thru big measures to take care of my appearance. I would wear foundation, lipstick, eye shadow, high heels and curl or straighten my hair, this was in my 20’s and in my late 30’s i’m simplifying my beauty routine. Now I wear hardly any makeup , dress neat and casual sometimes blue jeans and a t shirt. Don’t straighten my hair often due to lack of time in the morning . But when I go out to somewhere special I still dress up and put on jewelry and a little makeup. Trying to lose weight in the meantime

I think I personify “smart casual”

I do my hair either up or in a plait down the side. I wear eyeliner and mascara but no foundation, blush or lipstick.

I wear three rings, a watch and a bracelet with three charms on it; a harmony ball, an amythest set in decorative silver and my nana’s aquarius charm which is gold.

personally i prefer women without makeup

but if you take care of your appearance then people will treat you better, applies to women and men

that may be right or wrong, but that’s how the world is

EDIT but maybe don’t spend hours so that you look 0.001% better?

try to take a shower once a week. the rest doesn’t matter.

I shower every day.
Brush teeth, floss, mouth wash etc
Coco nut oil under and on eyes. Its natural and is truly good in my opinion for me anyway.

I do not wear make up often and never was a daily wearer of it.
But Ive started wearing lipstick and mascara to work and it has been noticed.
I was told it was a nice lipstick.
I think some form of effort put in can be nice but I do not want to spend heaps of time getting ready.

I do not really do my hair.
i did wear a braid the other day but it was not so good as they can be.Bit on messy side but least i tried.
Usually my hair is out or in pony tail.
I brush it every day but dont cut it anymore so have split ends.

I only have comfortable heels but do love a bit of heel to my shoes.I may require it on many or most settings.
I would like to buy super stilettos.
Had a pair once that were so comfortable. Amazingly enough.

Inner health affects appearance also so such things as exercise, attitude etc but also i take linseeds in most mornings.

I buy lots of my clothes from second hand and have worn clothes to later notice they were dirty and stains on and tears… despite being washed.

I am not so good at applying make up.
I keep it simple at work mascara and lipstick only sometimes foundation.
At other event i may use eyeliner and shadow.

other wise Just the “usual” perhapzzz
Exercise even if it just 1 -3 times week. Constistency in it.
Eat some what well.
wash and clean body

I never went to huge measures with appearance but did get dolled up on occasion and when going out.
Had a pro do my make up which was stunning. Colours and so forth. Used false eye lashes and pinks , golds and wings etc
The colourful make up can be so stunning with the khol and lashes.
I would like to be better at make up and have passion for it and apply on occasion.

As for hair. I would love wear mow hawk etc and spray colour it perhaps but not on daily basis.
Also would love do gorgeous hair does.
I just “let it be” most of time.
Natural colour, let grow. …

I’ve been wearing these two bracelets 39 days straight. I take one of them off when I shower, but the other one always stays on as it’s water proof. I’ve been sober all 39 days. Feels good. Sober good luck charms.

staying in shape

Appearance is something I’ve never really valued much, I mean most of my life I spent growing my hair long and then buzzing it off and for some reason no one even those close to me even ever commented on the wierdness of this. I buzz my own hair, not short it’s actually a bit odd/wild looking I guess, I wear plain t-shirts with no print or logos generally with a short or long sleeve collared shirt over it. I guess it’s like no matter what I stand out of the crowd, when I was young it was on purpose and yet even when I try not to I still stand out. I do what’s practical for me, I don’t go clean shaven but buzz my facial hair to just barely a five o’clock shadow I guess.

Not giving importance to appearance is just one of the many things I feel puts me at odds with the society around me along with being averse to competition in any form, being stuck between “generations” and generally not having known what the hell was going on around me.

i’m heavy set but dieting and exercise is hard for me to muster. I shower twice a week, sometimes three times depends how much work I do for the week. I brush my hair everyday change my clothes and dress casual pants or shorts and a t shirt. I don’t wear makeup
