How do you spend your days if you have low energy?
I have low energy. I spend my days watching music videos on tv. Or listening to music on headphones. Or going on the internet. Basically I live on my couch.
I wish I could go to the gym like you do.
How are you doing these days?
Thank you for your reply @everhopeful.
Today, the health club opens only in the evening, and it creates trouble for me.
I exercised today on an exercise machine at home, and went for a walk.
I look for advice now because I am “bored” on the one hand, and on the other hand I have low energy so my capacity to do things is limited.
My go -to thing in such a situation is to walk( slowly and with difficulty when I’m tired) or to play chess
on the internet.
You should look into placing exercise machines at home,
because for me even in days that I am too weak to exercise at health club, I manage to exercise at home.
On my slow days, I sleep. On my energetic days I do independent research, write essays on books I’ve read.
I have to take a stim to get through the day if I want to be productive. It’s the only med that has ever helped.
I remind myself that I am lost and need to get found.
Sounds to me like you’re doing fairly well with low energy if you’re exercising, thats really great to hear.
As for me, from December to June I literally was so depressed/pessimistic I mostly stared at a wall (literally) for 4-10 hours of my waking state. Lately Ive been painting, going for walks, and doing a bit of gaming to distract myself from my obsessive thoughts.
Usually the low energy comes from the overwhelming nature of confused thinking for me.
I play some games and watch some tv and chat a little on the internet. I also go walking. I kinda feel lost a lot of the time.
This is exactly my problem, with low energy, for about 6 weeks. I sleep overnight and then for several hours during the day. I have spoken with several people about this. Part of it is feeling tired and part of it is bad habit. I just have to keep trying.
I have been advised to take up old interests like helping out with the mentally ill or playing bridge (cards). For about 5 years I read in my free time. I try to schedule activities with friends. I will let you know when this gets better for me.
I do that too. I like to pick a disease, research it and write a paper on it.
I have low energy but guess it depends on who you compare it to. I do a lot of things, like right now I’m traveling. But on the down side I just get really tired at the end of the day. I can exhaust myself and actually have a fun day. I guess my motivation and mood is good, so I still want to do things.
I watch a lot of tv and movies, but I hardly pay attention most of the times. I’ve my video games when they aren’t sending me messages. And of course I’m on the forum on and off in the waking hours.
On good days I try to do chores around the house, help out where I can.
I’m worried lack of energy is just going to be par for the course from meds
I do ok from 4pm to midnight but I am sleepy 6 hours after my am pills. If I am home I lay on the recliner with my eyes closed. I’m sick of it.
I drag my arse into work anyhow. Might as well get paid for being exhausted.
I have low energy all the time. In the morning, I usually feel weak and sleepy. Then I drink a cup of coffee to wake me up. After that I usually meditate for 20 minutes. Coffee and meditation can lift up my spirit. Then I start to read books and make notes. About 2-3 hours later, I feel exhausted and start to relax myself such as listening to music or radios and idling on internet.
Pretty much just look up subjects on YouTube to learn about. Maybe check Netflix or Amazon. I need to start walking again.
Mostly in bed, but if i’m up i’ll watch tv, netflix, youtube…
When I have days with low energy (pretty much every day), I tend to sleep and take alternate rests. Or eat something.
I try to diet because that takes more self control and it feels like something achievable. I just don’t think I’m going to be exercising. So I try to control what I put in instead of what I put out. After that, I try to get chores done a little bit at a time.
