Low energy

Anyone here have low energy, either as a negative symptom or a side effect of the Latuda I don’t know. And does anyone know of a way to deal with it? I’m literally sleeping the days away.

I find coffee helps me. But it is a two edged sword - too much can make you restless/anxious. Tea is a nice alternative.

I have low energy but I just push through it with coffee. I don’t take meds

If I don’t have scheduled activities or work I also sleep the day away. So I suggest a more rigid schedule

Other members have brought up how important lists are. If you are able to wake up and feel comfortable attending to activities, you might add one extra activity to the list to attend to.

When at my worst, I would wake up from long periods of sleep and still felt sleep deprived. No ease or comfort in these types of experiences.

I was a homeless kid/teen, I did not grow right. As an adult it became important to me to buy healthy food. Nutrition will provide energy but I do not know if it is enough. Amino acids make a world of difference. 100 percent whole foods offer them. Ethical farmers have excellent eggs to offer you. Factory farm eggs, not so much. A friend of mine who is a nurse and who knows how much I dig nutrition told me about bee pollen granules. BPG give me a lot of energy. I place them in OJ as they can not be heated. I buy from a source that will not tamper with them by using any type of -cide on them, etc. But some folks may be allergic to them and will have to find another source.

Just so you know, sleep is crucial. Buzsaki informs us how our bodies complete all activities due to acceptable forms of sleep. If you sleep 12 hours a day often, don’t sweat it. If you want some of the hours back, guide yourself at the 11th hour to gradually wake up and smirk at that list you own.

Also someone on this forum had a good piece of advice , I can’t remember who it was.

But they said to sleep as much as you can without get up or not moving for as long as possible. I tried it . I slept for like 18 hrs and it did not make me feel better at all.

What it did was show me that sleeping my life away is not worth it.

It helped motivate me to get up even if I don’t feel great

I’ve always had a hard time making myself do things that need to be done. I don’t know if that is low energy. I exercise and I watch informative videos on Youtube. I don’t clean my room. My sink has been full of dirty dishes for over a week. I keep hoping that my generalized knowledge will lead to some more productive activity.

I have a low energy and I Chalk it up to getting older.
