How do you feel about writing?

True, it’s a pain to learn how to write and to read. One pdoc even said about reading “You say that’s all very interesting but then you go on your merry way.” as if writing lacked in being emotionally effective. But then, why the popularity of texting? Sending notes was always an ice breaker for social initiatives.
Just asking you if you find reading and writing valuable. It’s pretty much the way we know each other here on the forum excepting what our avatars indicate.

I enjoy writing too much. I also enjoy speaking. Probably even more. But oftentimes don’t feel as comfortable doing so. writing is easier on my mind. Writing is how my socialization developed. Too much internet growing up. The silver lining when I became really psychotic the first time my writing improved a lot.

In a way, writing drives me blind but how’s an eye doctor supposed to know that when all his visual tests are about letters. lol :eyeglasses:

A lot of people started it a couple thousand years ago and it seems to have caught on. I think writing is here to stay.

I did 5 essays yesterday for a total of 36k words for school. It’s handy being good at writing. I think it could get me through school my understanding of writing now but I don’t wanna commit to school or anything. I’m good taking one class every now and then for no reason

Yes, do you know if it was initiated by sending messages by homing pigeons or the writing in blood of messages on prison walls?

Don’t know. It would make a great movie though.

If you count hieroglyphics as writing, the Egyptians were doing it 2000 years ago.

I wish I knew all those fancy words and could write really cool. It would really help in all areas

I used to really enjoy writing. Back in the early- to mid-2000s I wrote some poetry as sort of a hobby, but I lost interest after a while.

The longest paper I ever wrote was about 50 pages; that was a lot of work. All I ever write now are exams and such, nothing fun.

I’ve been thinking about buying a journal to start writing in, haven’t done that in years. My old journals all were just spiral notebooks, but maybe I could buy an actual journal to write in, we’ll see.

I love writing and i think its very powerful. Especially when you have pain and find the right words to make the other person feel what you feel, its rewarding and comforting.

Started a journal in october, is like a therapist to me. Ive also played around with short stories, an odd rap or lyrics, and recently working on a flaky blog and have plans to write a 70 page book (8 pages down…!)

I do the above things for me, if people like what i write then yay.

Writing is beautiful and a great form of expression. Also it has no limits, people say im a skilled writer (which could be smoke up the arse for all i know) yet when i read poetry its like comparing a kindergartener to a guy working on his thesis. Which makes it all the more exciting. Lots of room to grow.

Gonna write a little letter and mail it to my local DJ.

I used to write a lot of essays in college. I enjoyed it.

I feel pressured to write. My muse is a task master.
