Inner mantras. Keep period of exposure limited. Bring gifts (disarms people and is a great way to break the ice)
See them in small doses only. Talk as little as possible with them. Give them very little information about yourself and your life. People who are toxic tend to judge you and gossip about you. Sorry you’re dealing with this.
I only have toxic, narcissistic, and abusive people for friends and relatives..
Don’t ask me how I deal with them..
It is a tricky situation.
Avoiding them can mean you withdraw from the family completely.
Being with them means embracing toxicity.
I tend to endure them in social settings. Like I avoid talking with them, but manage to entertain their presence.
Sorry zoe i can relate. Everhopeful What im doing is moving to a different city and basically writing everybody off. Not telling anybody about my sz if i get a gf after a while ill tell her.. ill have to find a church or a website to meet somebody i think. unless im doing amazing then i dont think ill have trouble finding a gf hahhaha i hope I in like 9 years from now i can drive to brooks and introduce him to my son or daughter and a gf i really hope so thats my mission

You ain’t kidding. I can relate!
I don’t know. I can barely manage it from 600 miles away.
Is it a parent?
That’s the hardest to deal with in my opinion.
The hardest to set boundaries with I mean.
Acceptance, and forget their your relatives. Stay away with hobbies you enjoy doing. I live with one that has zero tolerance for any problems. So I avoid her like the plague and just move on. Do you own things!
This:
Eating about 120 in a sitting results in epic flatulence followed by what can only described as volcanic diarrhea that lasts for hours, followed by even more flatulence, but of the variety where you had better be on a toilet cuz… Y’know.
Anyhow, if you dislike the in-laws that much, these are a solid strategy. Not discussing how I know this is effective.
