I was concerned with flatness of response, saying too much, trouble making sense and understanding people before medication, among various other things. I shut up for a time after medication but I got better with practice. Now I enjoy conversations with people in person or in text. Have you considered the slim possibility you may have a co-existing condition? Have you had any seizures? My brother is post psychosis with epilepsy and for quite a few years he had gaps in speech because he couldn’t remember what he was saying. He got better after diagnosis and the proper treatment. Now he can chat just fine.
If you have any choice you should shop around for the right therapist. Some therapists can’t relate to you personally. It’s like they have a profile of people and symptoms they can relate to. If a therapist can’t understand you they are just wasting your time.
Only co existing condition i havw is adhd but symptoms could probably be all sz now.
How long did you struggle with those symptoms for before you got better
I would say a year or two after medication was uncomfortable but I had an excellent support system. My dog was the real change, from me sitting around thinking nothing to enjoying my day, having a schedule to adhere to and getting fresh air and exercise. You’re never alone when you have a dog.
I was on risperidone at first and then i took olanzapine and my negative became better but i hope to become more better with ages
