How do you cope with anxiety?

How do you cope with anxiety? My Dr won’t prescribe anything for it and I have panic attacks all the time. HELP!

I just find a quiet spot and take deep breathes.

Grounding mainly. Deep breathing. Listening to music. Art. Slight meditation.

I do take hot baths if that’s an option, but that’s not exactly sustainable!

Medication and coping techniques I learned in therapy.
Like breathing, grounding, and mindfulness.

I peddle a recumbent stationary bike. I peddle for 40 minutes. The anxiety goes away at about the 25-minute mark (it feels like breaking a fever).

I try to lie down and take deep, slow breaths. I acknowledge my surroundings and try to drift off for a nap. Then when I wake up, I go back to what I was doing. It helps. I could’ve just said to take a nap, but I put a lot of thought to actually get calm enough.

I start thinking about this shot and what it’s done to me, all the ways it has negatively effected my life and I try to think about other stuff but it always comes back around because I’m having to deal with the side effects constantly. It’s giving me bad anxiety and I’m having panic attacks. I just wish with everything I have that this shot would get out of my system.

I’m lucky I get ativan, don’t use it too often, but it really helps at times

The doctors around here think everyone’s trying to abuse medicine. The people that abuse medicine ruined it for people who really need it.

My coping mechanism is to regress by building Legos or some other infantile behavior.

I drug myself, heavily.

i take breaks when i have to, if i feel stressed or anxious, fresh air, open spaces help, tea/coffee, even just holding a cup or a glass of water helps, eating helps, treats, rewards, music helps, talking about it helps too, writing things down also helps.

I take Chlorpromazine and Paroxetine, I don’t have any anxiety now.

Yep. Y’all don’t even want to see my lego collection. Nothing chills me out more.

the first thing I do when I notice anxiety rearing it’s ugly head is a breathing technique. I breathe in to a count of 5, hold to a count of 3 and breath out to a count of 7. I do this for a minute or so and it generally calms me down enough to start thinking through what is causing the anxiety. Once I am able to identify the thoughts behind the anxiety I identify a rational solution to the problem or a way to soothe myself. This works like 10% of the time. I’m still practicing this. I’m hoping to get better at finding practical solutions and I really want to get better at tolerating the feeling of being anxious. If is just a feeling after all. Somehow I’ve let this emotion get the better of me over the years but I believe with practice I can master anxiety. For now I’m trying this and when this fails I use Ativan. Good luck with your anxiety, I hope you feel better.
