I’m experiencing really bad anxiety, so much so that I’m thinking about going to the hospital. I can’t seem to shake it. Does anyone have ways of coping through crippling anxiety?
talk to your Dr. he has a pill for that. ps lay off caffine
I used to take Klonopin for anxiety. However after I switched to Abilify my anxiety went away, and I don’t need the Klonopin anymore.
you have to learn to ignore the fear associated with anxiety…it’s a mind game…meds didn’t help my anxiety…I had to defeat it…I used to have crippling anxiety…I know it sounds impossible…don’t give up…fight the fear…unplug the anxiety…I am anxiety free now…
Grounding techniques and breathing exercises can help. Also look in to cbt it can help alot!
I have it. Just knowing that it too shall pass. I get anxiety on the phone and in public. Knowing that it will pass is a good coping technique.
I need meds to keep my anxiety to manageable levels.
I take 300mg Pregabalin for anxiety and also up to 20mg a day Diazepam.
The problem with mine is that it’s generalised, so there is always something the anxiety latches onto, and without meds it’s an absolute constant.
Anxiety for me is worse than psychosis, as I am actually experiencing it. When I am psychotic, I have no idea what’s happening to me, which is almost better in a way than just being so consumed by physical symptoms that bother your every waking moment, and preventing sleep etc
Maybe I might be getting the above wrong, but my family feel more pain from the psychosis than I do
Splash your face with cold water. I take benzos and Buspar.

i take benzos as well.i have a very good doctor.im lucky because not a lot of doctoctors prescribe benzos.
When I get panic attacks the only thing that helps is to slow my breathing and pray for me to be ok
If my anxiety is more chronic (all day) then a Valium or Ativan helps
same for me, slowing the breathing helps when having a panic attack.
I used to take lorazepam for it but in last psych ward they got me off of the lorazepam. Now I only take it when I really need it and dr says I should take it. I don’t take it by myself, i always need to get the order to take one.
When I get certain kinds of anxiety I’ve been taught to try and ‘ground’ myself so that I’m redirecting myself to something that does not freak me out.
Like some have already said, focusing on slow deep breaths, focusing on my walking concentrating on the stepping on the ground, the bending of the knees.etc.
Thanks for all the support
One thing that severly lessened my anxiety episodes was the realisation that I was becoming afraid of becoming anxious.
I would think “oh no I’m getting anxious, what if someone notices, make it go away, why won’t it go away”
I worked on shifting it to “It’s ok to be afraid, it won’t kill me, and it WILL pass eventually” and it really helped
