You should just be applying through social security, unless you have some benefit through your employment or medical benefits. I guess you mean, they contact your doctor?
I went to their office and applied. Sencond time I asked pdoc to fill unemployment papers
I just had to claim that I was disabled because of schizophrenia and then showed them all of the hospitalizations
I ask night owl to bring me
How? You got a paper from your dr?
I got SSDI after 4 months my Mom filled out the paperwork and talked to them
I gave an estimate of time and then address and phone number. They follow up to obtain information it’s up to them.
They don’t do that here, they told me to get a paper from my Dr and he refused
Huh I don’t know what to tell you
I was seeing a mental health counselor, and she applied for disability for me. I got turned down, but then I ended up in a mental hospital in Tennessee, and they applied for me again, and this time I got it.
Yea I need to try one more time
Yes, most likely, but if you have any ambition it might make it harder to get a real job.
I went through about 4 jobs in 3 months before my pdoc said I should just go on disability. she said she almost called the cops to my place once when I wouldnt return her calls cuz she thought I was going to commit suicide.
It kinda baffles me looking back how close I was to just being done (wont go into detail on that) and now I’m back doing better than I’ve been in many years.
So keep up the good fight!
I think I got my ssdi so fast is that I worked for 25 years and they saw that I was in and out of the hospital for 8 years and still working.
My disability got approved when I was 17 (now 38) and I have only been to one disability assessment in that time for my PIP and they told my supported living manager they could see I was severely disabled and my money will remain the same. I’ve never had any problems with the benefits people, if I do I have a court appointed person who manages my finances so they sort it out for me.
