How common is schizophrenia?

There’s another source that claims SCZ affects 1 in 300 people. 0.33% of the population. They used to say it affects 1%. I always knew it was less than 1%. Maybe they’re beginning to differentiate between Psychosis and Schizophrenia, and differentiate between Personality Disorder (especially Schizoid, Schizotypal) and Schizophrenia. Some people may have been misdiagnosed, and they have been correcting the diagnosis. Due to the news/media, most people think Schizophrenics are violent. Well, most are not. So, there’s that constant confusion as to what SCZ is. Some people may think they have SCZ but do not; some people think they have SCZ but never diagnosed. Why would anyone want SCZ? It’s a good thing to not have it.

I think I genetically inherited SCZ from whoever my biological parents were.
