How common is it that marijuana causes schizophrenia?

I used to smoke weed in high school. Haven’t touched it in ten years. How common is it that marijuana will cause schizophrenia? Sometimes I think that’s what caused my schizophrenia.

According to current understanding, it doesn’t cause schizophrenia. It does make changes in the brain though; which supposedly makes it more prone to developing sz

Schizophrenia hovers around 1% of the population. If weed caused it it would go up with marijuana consumption, but it stays around 1-2%

It could very well be that my sz is linked to my cannabis use.

Given the statistics, it is more likely that tobacco is a cause of SMI but proving causation and correlation is a tricky business.

My condition is was drug induced. Weed, Molly and Speed were my drugs of choice. Now days I don’t even drink alcohol. I do miss getting high if I am honest, but I know it’s not good for me.

I was offered a smoke quite a while ago and it sent me into a psychotic episode. Never again

Haha. This Again. Its been studied that you should not touch weed until your at least 25 - cos your brain is not emotionally developed to cope with it. But yeah - your a bit of a twat, if your smoking it with a diagnosed MI. Your chemicals are already off kilter in your brain - and your introducing more into it.

Basically your dumping all your happy chemicals out, dopamine in one go - for that high. And yeah - your gonna get a come down when your brains screaming it aint got none.

If your screwed up from that. Seriously eat a kilo of chicken. The tryptophan in it will be converted and replace it.

Marijuana doesn’t cause schizophrenia but can trigger your underlying symptoms

I understand, I also miss getting high on mdma and weed, and tipsy. Sobriety sucks right now. But apparently its better the longer you stick with it.
