I find it mind boggling how this works.
Maybe for a very few people. But I think they are the exceptions not the rule and I don’t know if a diet can really cure someone. I’d like to see examples.
Never ever heard of a diet curing schizophrenia?? What are you talking about?
The only time I’ve heard people losing mild psychotic symptoms is when they suffer from celiaki and stop eating grains.
I think some of you may know what diet I’m talking about - medical keto.
Nothing cures Schizophrenia not even a Keto diet
The thing is; it doesn’t.
I doubt it can outright cure anyone, but with this diet you get more vitamins and minerals, particulary B-vitamins, which can be extra beneficial for people struggling with mental illness, plus important minerals. Maybe that is the correlation why some people seem to favor it. But there is no proof that it can cure anything.
I am on the keto diet and I think it works mainly by reducing inflammation in the brain. I don’t think the keto diet is the only path to reducing inflammation in the brain. For some people it could be a vegan diet, for others getting sugar, nitrates, prosessed food, gluten or something else that is affecting the brain out of the diet.
Now, that being said - does the keto diet or any diet cure schizophrenia? I say no. It can’t.
It can help reduce symptoms a lot. But that’s it. It reduces symptoms. The instant the person goes off the diet, or eats a food that causes brain inflammation the symptoms of schizophrenia come right back again.
