Is there a particular diet for schizophrenics to follow.
Oh I’ll be interested to hear what people have to say. I’ve heard that a diet that helps with the inflammation of the gut can be beneficial, so a low inflammation diet. In general a low inflammation diet you would avoid refined sugars, trans fats, vegetable and seed oils, refined carbs, alcohol and processed meats.
One time a psychiatrist told me to eliminate malt from my diet to help. I don’t know how true that is though.
Not really. But there was a bit of talk about a ketogenic diet helping symptoms.
Avoid drugs, cola, chocolate, stress. Get at least 8 hours sleep, when you feel overwhelmed take a break, take your meds, do therapy, make sport if you can, don’t eat junk food…
On the top of my head
They say that helps with seizures
I once tried the ketogenic diet with some success but eventually had too much acid reflux disease. I then started binging on candy and have yet to break that habit. Once you get hooked to sugar its an almost impossible habit to break but there are no withdrawal programs for sugar addiction that Medicaid will pay for. I guess it doesn’t kill you fast enough.
Ketogenic diet.
I don’t think ill do keto. im a high carb vegetarian. I eat 2 or 3 servings of beans and a baked potato almost everyday. it’s mostly carbs but I digest them well. so I figure its no big deal. as long as im not putting on weight.
if things get worse I could always try keto
I’ve heard about low inflammation diets dunno wat evidence there is and dunno how much this has of an impact, if any.
@everhopeful…what is ketogenic
Low carb basically. Like the Atkins diet. Lots of proteins.
@everhopeful. What he said.
Avoid sugar and processed foods.
Also avoid artificial sweeteners.
Schizophrenic diet: when you can’t eat anything because it’s all poisoned.
